Doombeard:
got a link to something? or is it on warseer?
Roark:
New minis rumours? Wat?
Grimstonefire:
Basically the rumour is non chaotic heavily armoured humans (i.e. new holy warriors) against chaos. Probably 20 or so models per side, mix of mounted and infantry. Good side has dwarf war machine. Round bases.
torn:
War hammer saga style?
cornixt:
Sounds more like 40k to me!
Yodrin:
Fu…k, forgot the link
Warhammer Fantasy 9th Edition Pre-Orders in April? - Faeit 212
Dînadan:
Hasn’t this rumour been out for a while now?
Also, under the list of minis there, what the hell does ‘Chaos daemons d5’ mean? Does each box contain a random number of minis? :P. And what is meant by ‘10 holy warriors, 10 warriors of the new faction’? I thought ‘holy warriors’ were the new faction
Yodrin:
Dunno…, seemed odd to me to, but what the hell to I know.
Grimstonefire:
I’m just guessing that d5 is actually x 5 as a typo.
If the mounted warriors look half decent and not too futuristic then I may be interested.
Doombeard:
I got all excited then, I’ve been following the rumours on Warseer so this was old news for me. There’s nothing about a book, the new starter sets contents got spilled on a Spanish website, so now we all know what will be in the box set. By Holy Knights I think they mean Warrior Priest Space Mariney type feudal knights
Bloodbeard:
By Holy Knights I think they mean Warrior Priest Space Mariney type feudal knightsA historical classic indeed.
Doombeard
cornixt:
Everything about this says “Space Marines vs Chaos” which makes it sound less believable than ever. If it had just said it had regular humans and knights, and none of this round bases nonsense, it would sound reasonable.
Doombeard:
I’m not convinced it’ll be round bases, I didn’t read that anywhere on the article, can someone confirm? I think round bases will just be for the skirmish game side of the game not the original wfb. Nowhere has confirmed the new minis have round bases right?
Dînadan:

That’s so bizarre. Just a really strange move. I’m still a bit doubtful.
Even if it was round bases for the skirmish game and square for the armies game, this would be ridiculous, because the skirmish game couldn’t serve as a “gateway” into the larger game.
MadHatter:
Ill believe it when I see it.
30 years on squares…

That's so bizarre. Just a really strange move. I'm still a bit doubtful.Might do if they break out the movement trays they made for WotR and do away with the current rules for how to form up units and use the rules from WotR. But that would require anything on a 25x50 or 50x50 to be rebased making it even more unlikely.

Dînadan:
Sounds more like a customer service rep who doesn’t know anything about the rules than a solid answer. Only thing I can think of that could fit is maybe the rules are changing so that unit composition is like what KoW uses - the footprint of the movement tray is what counts rather than the bases of the individual minis.
