Sho’Nuff:
Hello again,
Just wanted to share my experience of getting the Tamurkhan book. I tried to find it on eBay to get a discount on it and I didn’t care if it was used. I found that the book was not always available and usually sold for $65-75.
Others may have done this before, but I decided to buy the Warhammer Forge Book Bundle from forgeworld a while ago. I didn’t want the Monstrous Arcanum, but the bundle package including the Arcanum is only 10 pounds more than buying Tamurkhan on its own (45 pounds). The Arcanum sells on the website for 32 pounds, so the extra 10 pounds for the bundle saves about 22 pounds. My total for the order was 63 pounds ($105) after shipping.
I say all that to present the idea of getting the Monstrous Arcanum for cheap and then selling it on eBay still wrapped in plastic. I sold mine this way for $50 with free shipping on eBay in less than a day. After eBay fees and shipping I got $40 for the book. Essentially the Tamurkhan book cost me $65 after I sold the Monstrous Arcanum. If I had just bought the Tamurkhan book alone from Forgeworld, it would have been about $86.
This may be a too much of a hassle for some to save a little over $20, but if you eBay regularly and don’t mind a trip to the post office, it is a way to get the book for less than sticker price and you don’t have to wait for one to pop up on eBay. Also, you may be able to save even more by asking a higher price for the Arcanum. Given that mine sold immediately, I am willing to bet you may get buyers to go a little higher. Hopefully this helps someone save a little cash to spend on more models.
