Nice, looks like plate or lamellar style armour round the bottom? I am a bit hazy on the details of real world armour, but that’s what sprang to mind 
I look forward to the finished product- with hand placement like that I suppose he is due a great weapon?

i’ll take some better pphotos in the morning when the light is better, @rougepanda, yeah, great weapons all round for this unit. im not sure about the armoured skirt as i didnt have the confidence to sculpt scale mail when i started, but gave it a go as i progressed with the miniature. im not 100% on the helmet either i might end up replacing it with a skull helm. as i say its only a test, so more sketches and trial and error sculpts are called for.
