[Archive] The CD's Sorceres they say mass?

Henroth:

As well of the sacrificies for Hashut, the CD’s Sorceres they say mass in places as cathedrals, or churchs, or chapels ? :s

The rest CD’s they greet to the CD’s Sorceres of way special, as kiss his ring equal that the Pope?

The CD’s they give alms with money or with slaves ?

Which is you opinion ?

Gar Shadowfame:

i think all fantasy worlds have religions based on pre christian examples. so no masses no “god loves you” temples are not build to host faithfull but to show splendour and power, and people venerate gods by bringing offerings.

and since CD are bend on power and domination, i would guess that in presence of sorcerer other CD has to go on their knees and kiss floor.

slaves are offering for Hashut, to sacrifice them, but if one wants to win favour with particular priest, then one gives him gold jewelery and some rare exotic goods

Churches are built to show splendour and wealth, just like any other temple.

Mass is a very Christian concept, so I would say mass is no better suited to them than meditation. No mass for CDs :)

I would say greeting a sorcerer would depend upon his rank. If he is still young (comparatively) and you are of reasonable rank (ie not lower caste) then perhaps respectful language would suffice.
Someone like Ghorth the Cruel or Astragoth....well, I would imagine if you were lucky (or unlucky) enough to be granted an audience with them, you bring a big crowd of slaves for them, keep your eyes fixed firmly on the floor and try not to soil your trousers :)

Hashut’s Blessing:

As has been said, I doubt there would be mass. There is no body and blood to eat and drink like at communion, for example. I think there may be sermons and preaching throughout the Old World, but it’s more likely left to the households of CDs to worship Hashut themselves and teach their own kith and kin about him.

Greeting a sorcerer varies. It’d be much like greeting a world leader or maybe a preacher. But in a more feared/tyrannical world view, lol :stuck_out_tongue: So, if it is of low rank and you are of very high rank, but not a sorcerer, you must still be polite as they likely have minds to exaggerate transgressions and apply them to the caste, angering more powerful ones, but ultimately, you may have higher rank in the society. It comes down to each meeting and the situation. The more powerful, the more courteous you must be, the more likely you are to have to gift them (unless they summon you immediately or you bump into them on the street, lol) and the less likely you are to have your own opinion, lol :stuck_out_tongue:

I seriously doubt that the CDs give alms. Alms goes to the poor (often with a tithe to whichever holy building is collecting them) and CDs seem to be very self-empowering. If you want to do well, it has to be by your own hand and charity is not something that they likely understand :stuck_out_tongue:

Willmark:

We throw slaves into a big flaming pool of molten metal! That’s the extent of our worship.

Ogrob:

I’m on the same page as Willmark. Hashut doesn’t want our prayers, he wants tasty, tasty charred souls… Because Hashut doesn’t like his food raw.

Also, due to the blood ties to the Sorcerers and the castes, and their industrious nature, I doubt there would really be such a thing as poor/homeless CDs, in the same way that you don't read about poor/homeless western Dwarfs; its just not the way their society works. You're tied to a superior by blood, you work for him, you have people who work for you; failure to live up to this is unthinkable for them imo.

nitroglysarine:

i’m thinkng more of a dungeon keeper sacrificial pit.

kind of along those lines
