In this article posted today on BOLS there is a review of the End Times novels. It is thus confirmed that the Chaos Dwarfs at last meet their end at the hands of a very angry greenskin mob. It is a bit sad seeing as we are treated just like Cathay, Nippon and Ind since unlike them we have a long time lore, gorgeous models and a fun army list. Even more so than Ogres, who are treated in essentially the same way, Greasus unceremoniously killed and the whole race subjugated. It really looks like GW is in “no strings attached” mode… hashut
Besides, Zharr Naggrund has been overrun, ok, I can live with that. What about our outposts at Uzkulak, the Black forterss, Daemon Stump, and Gorgoth? As far as I know they built massive rockets and went rampaging in space ;P.
Guys, I don’t know about you but THE MORE Games Workshop keeps telling me that my army is death THE MORE I feel like I should play it.
Of course, I agree, the more they do this the more I want to play my Chaos Dwarfs. It’s just appalling to see what they are doing to themselves, End Times, round bases and all that…die GW die!! :hashut

To be honest our current book is stupid. Kdaii Destroyer to strong, Both variations of Iron Daemons have the most wonky rules in fantasy, Death Shrieker rules are confusing. Infernal Guard are overcosted, Siege Giant is the most pointless monster in the game by far. I could go on.
I don’t want to see Chaos Dwarfs go but if Chaos Dwarfs don’t have rules for awhile it opens up hobby choices to make the Your current army Dwarfs or Warriors of Chaos.
It’s not the end we will get another ruleset but it may take 2-4 years depending how they feel.
I’m with you GiL, play them as counts as WoC and ally them with demons and beastmen.
LoA was disappointing to me, the sculpts from FW are beautiful, especially the IG, but the rules are like a half finished project with a bunch of wacky shit in them.
Id like to see them reset and absorbed back into WoC ala Realms of Chaos the same way as Beastmen/Demons seem to be, so the potential would be there to play an unbound list of just Chaos Dwarfs, or a generic bound list of bad guys
Well i would love to use them as warriors but im not rebasing everything onto 25mm, If there was a company that does trays for 20mm bases and spaces them out to make them 25mm that i would be up for it. You know like Skirmish but much closer. But i can’t find one to save my life.
yeah thats what id go for, resize them with movement trays. I think you’d have to find a custom made job by one of the laser cut MDF guys on ebay, shouldnt be hard those guys will make anything if you contact them.
I think its the cheapest wood you can buy right Tommy? Either that or chipboard possibly but thats too thick. Its similar to Plywood but cheaper.
They have a way of laser cutting it super clean, fast and easily, you just give them a template of what you want cut and they can cut anything any shape or size you see whole Necromunda towns made out of it, theres a lot of woodshop guys who have branched into wargames scenery and accessories to make some extra cash. You can find loads on ebay if you filter your search to Toys>Wargames and search for MDF .
The way I would ask them to make it is either with a big flat piece underneath, the size of the combined 25mm unit ranked up, so for 5x4 25mm would be 125x100, then make your cutout grid to go on top and just glue it down . Either that way or use a thick plasticard as the base layer, which could save money and be less thick. To just get the grids cut out from the MDF guys would be pretty cheap then. Then i’d probably primer them before painting as they will absorb water and paint like a sponge, once primered safe to paint up. Itll be quite heavy but will feel sturdy and safe.
Id be interested in a load, if you need someone to go in with you, I’d love some horde formation sizes, like 30, 40 and 50, and some 20’s, and maybe some 24’s But it might be worth waiting to see what the new rules are with Skirmish formations and bases.

It’s either i put my Lammasu ( With warriors i could have him as a manticore ) to stud or my artillery. Either way my current army is not compatible so the beginning of new conversions is upon us!
Lets wait and see what happens. I live right next to the flagship games workshop Warhammer Store in London and they are saying to come down and find out all about Age of Sigmar on their facebook page, so I will go in on my lunchbreak tomorrow and ask some questions about everything
