The docks were almost silent, had been for some time. Being a Dawi Zharr ziggurat, there was of cause always the sound of distant hammering, whistling from boilers and large grinding machinery. Yet the docks seemed silent. A lonely chaos dwarf sat staring at the ocean - almost like the lesser races getting awe struck by the water. Yet this was a Dawi Zharr and he must have been visualizing some infernal nautical machine or manipulating from other strain of diabolical thought.
The lack of life and sound of the docs was unsettling. It was the slaves fault - or rather the complete lack of any slaves. The sea watcher was thinking about something his master had said to him and it still didn’t make sense. “Slaves are for giving, demons are for keeping.” The Admiral had said it a couple of times and one day the dock had been empty. All the slaves of The Red Host was now moving across the Dark Lands in large slave caravans, most headed for Zharr-Naggrund, but slaves were going in all directions.
“Slaves are for giving, demons for keeping”. The lone Dawi Zharr a captain of The Red Hosts fleet couldn’t understand his Admiral Nir-Kezhar and he had been thinking for days. No slaves, no life on the docks. Yet his master must have had a plan with the madness, buying influence, bribing someone in high places. Time would definitely tell - but for now he had to figure out who would feed coals to the furnace of his warship … having no slaves and no bound demons.
You guys do know that administrators can create slaves at will right? It's basically going to the mint and saying "hey dudes, heard you needed money, here have mine".

Yet Admiral is not an admin - but a humble moderator with an orange name. And he constantly have only 1 slave at his disposal.
Good forum etiquette and contribution deserves recognition. I have no problem sending my slaves to admins either - the recognition is still deserved. And slaves has a nice way on underlining this. It's not like I can convert my slaves to a better PayPal balance.
You know the Dawi Zharr saying: "A healthy slave says more than a thousand words!"
Wow! That background piece was both well written, clever and hilarious, Bloodbeard. It will be part of the Red Host’s “official” background. The ebbs and flow of power and riches, right? The capriciousness and mysterious ways of the Prophets, eh? The corruption and intrigue, the blackmails and backstabbings, the dirty dealings and complicated machinations of the evil genius… Slaves are just pieces on a board, to be moved like any other gaming piece, their lives worthless and to be exploited ruthlessly. There are many plausible reasons for such a (temporary) emptying of the slave workforce in a Chaos Dwarf outpost. :cheers
You surely don’t need to give me slaves, but be welcome to do so if you wish to. I’ll probably be all the quicker to donate them out of sheer gratitude, but circulation must be good for the slave economy, right?
Thank you, all of you! :hat off
As for WoH, I’ll try to start on clobbering it together as soon as studies allow. Sometimes you wonder about uneven work tempo and those tsunamis of jobs which hits the schedule… Nicodemus, amongst others, have offered his help, so there should be good hope for a new issue even if I run into the expected technical issues.

Mods and admins are not the same thing. At least so far I’ve seen in the mod powers. But I’ve not looked into much else than contest organizing, because that’s just what I’m doing - handling contests temporarily until other staffers have more time on their hands. I wouldn’t even be a mod if it wasn’t for necessary access to the Staff and Golden Hat accounts.

Haha, alright, thanks a lot! The Thunderfire Battlebarge is overflowing with slaves. They’re cheaper fuel than coal, so their numbers will probably diminish fast. As for that rocket target practice… we’ll make sure the Deathshrieker earns it name. Yarr! :yar
This thread could also be used in the future if anyone else happens to donate overly many slaves, then he/she could ask for some or be unexpectedly nominated.
Finger nails scratch down the lava rock …One does not give slave to a mod. now he will get fat and lazy with all them doing his work. I send him black orcs. to keep him on his toes… and fire a earth shaker canon at him…you must earn your pay
