Admiral:

This is also good since Orcs & Goblins once had Ogres in their army list. Monster pit spotted.

Best of luck!

Hah, yes, I used to have those old metal citadel Ogres in my 5th edition Orcs & Goblins back in the day - still a fan of those models

Thanks!

Great facelift to the page! CDO might need a bit more AoS after all…

CDO could benefit a lot from all the features and stability in an updated phpbb. But we would loose all the medal and the slaves system, as that can't be lifted over. And we wouldn't want to loose that.

Admiral:

I guess one drastic way would be to meticulously check all medals per member (not that hard) and slaves per member (nightmare), document it, save all medal files for backup, update the site and reintroduce the medals and slaves? Lots of work in any case (and personally I very much prefer the current CDO look and layout).

Please don't AoSify the features of this website! Getting rid of content and familiar look is not worth it.

Grimbold Blackhammer:

I have to agree with Firehammer. I like things as they are now and believe if we start making subsections for Kings of War, 9th Age, Age of Sigmar, and whatever else comes along, we’ll become too diluted as some sections just won’t have enough traffic and activity to hold people’s attention. I know this is not a democracy but if I got a vote…

Bloodbeard:

Firehammer and Grimbold Blackhammer - I think tjub was only talking about an updated forum.

We won’t be doing system specific sub forums, we’ve already discussed this in the Staff. Tagging [AoS], [9th], [KoW] and

I faced a similar issue with my Pet Gobbos system - I moved from an SMF board to Invision and was able to take an excel download of the SMF Karma counts in the old database and match them up with the correct user accounts to copy the values into the Invision reputation counts, then uploaded them to the new installation database - worked a treat!

It might be wise to do that sooner rather than later, since the inherent security flaws in this version of forum software means we could wake up with it out of action for a while. Restoring from backups will minimise losses but it will still only be a matter of time before we get hit again.

This got a whole lot scarier when no one posted a single message on this site for the 6 hours after I wrote the above.

Malorndk:

Haha we are still here but yeah, funny timing

Grimstonefire:

Random observation, your thread title has “Grand Alliance Website”, which I know is a very common term, but ironically for the ancient old timers here (which may actually only be me and Hashut’s Blessing now), that was the name of a “rebel” Chaos Dwarf separatist forum during the long dark days of the Chaos Dwarf community past.

Just reminded me of that.

Sweet defiantly get involved.
