Biggest change: K’Daai can now be wounded by Strength 4 or lower attacks
Pg184 and 185: Replace the Blazing Body rules text with the following:
?~Any model (friend or foe) in base contact with a Bale Taurus or K?Tdaai, except a Chaos Dwarf using it as a mount or another K?Tdaai, takes an automatic Strength 4 hit at the start of the Close Combat phase. This is a Flaming attack.
Additionally, any non-magical attacks must re-roll successful To Wound rolls.?T

So SO happy about this! One step further towards having a generally accepted list!
The majority of complaints for me stem from the destroyer and the magma cannon, so this helps a lot!!
Time of Madness:
Didn’t think the amendment was coming until August, nice surprise.
Clarified the two biggest issues in my opinion. Well done to FW.

Thommy H:
Told you it was too powerful. It does now mean there are two versions of Blazing Body though - this one and the Great Taurus rules in Storm of Magic.
Grimbold Blackhammer:
I’m excited about this new ruling actually. It not only helps bring the K’daii more in line with 8th edition rules but it also gets much better versus most other troops! Cannonballs now having to re-roll to wound makes me quite happy!

CopperPot:
Still nothing regarding close combat for the dread quake then or have I missed something
KramDratta:
Question: Would non-magical poison bypass this new rule? I’m thinking yes but I’m not sure.

Yes, since if they roll a '6' to hit, the wound is automatic. No roll necessary. Heroic Killing Blow on the other hand would have to re-roll I think.
Thommy H:
If there’s no To Wound roll, there’s nothing to re-roll. Similarly, anything else that Wounds models automatically would be unaffected.
Far2Casual:
Non-magical attacks :
S4- : 1/36 chance to wound vs 0 before
S5 : 1/9 vs 1/6 before
S6 : 1/4 vs 1/3 before
S7 : 4/9 vs 1/2 before
S8+ : 25/36 vs 2/3 before
So yeah … he can be wounded by S4- but it’s very, very unlikely (like rolling box cars …). For the rest he actually got even harder to wound than before
KramDratta:
@Tvandyke: On the other hand, a volley of S3 shooting can now wound the model, whereas before it couldn’t.
How are the Fireborn affected with this? They will suffer more wounds, but the wounds need to be re-rolled.
UPDATE: Ninja’d by Far2Casual
Zhorn:
Well, maybe that brings fireborn back into the fold.
Far2Casual:
I really think they should just let the -1 to wound but cap it at 6. That would make it fair imo.
The Fireborns are fine as they are. Pseudo T5 with a 4+ ward is already pretty tough for Monstruous Infantry.

Well it's done now, I very much doubt they will change it again.
Although it's made it aboe to wound with lower strength attacks its made it harder for higher strength attacks! And I think it'll make quite a difference to fireborn!
I can see this just creating a new wave of Destroyer hate to be honest.
silentbob27:
Yup. I see this as making the Destroyer and FB even better.
Zhorn:
Depends. The “traditional” big guns just became a tiny bit better against it: Before, cannons/stonethrowers needed 3+ to wound, now they need 2+ re-roll, which is a slightly better chance than 3+.
(And the fireborn need all the help they can get anyways.
)
Baggronor:
As far as I can tell, they nerfed it and inadvertently made it better. Low Str hits will still only wound on 6s, re-roll and mostly do nothing, while high strength hits now have a harder time hurting it… ummmm… yeah… x.x
Makes Fireborn less vulnerable to low Str shooting too, although that’s a welcome change.
Zhorn:
Well, they made it worse against strength values of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8+ and better against strength values of 5, 6, 7 (against fireborn the values are reduced by 2 accordingly).
The Besieger:
Every strength can now wound vs the blazing body rule.
Np… so there is no need now for the k’daais to make The Toughness test.
Because all have acces to wound him now.
Or or at least move the toughness test to CD player turn 4.
