We have been tracking this problem for several months. Whenever we host large files, in this case a 75 MB audio file (a podcast), our users have a lot of trouble downloading the complete file. The file seems to simply stop downloading at random times.

Example file: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/podcast/cdr004.mp3

Several users have been unable to download this completely. I even tried zipping the file instead of having it in a streaming audio player.

More details of the errors can be found in this thread on our forum:

Is there any way to know why these connections are cutting out? I would really like to have this problem fixed.

Thanks!

David Clarke

Large File Downloading Errors

cornixt:

The torrent seemed to work okay, although only a few people used it (I only saw 2 myself, but there could have been a few more overnight)

Xander:

Greetings,

There are no such problems on server. I was able to download your 71mb file in one go on my 512kbps connection. there should not be any problem even with 1gb file, 71mb is too small. There are no issues on server side, users experiencing such issues must check with their isp's. Our servers are hosted in he.net teir1 facility which is located just 2 hops ahead from internet backbone.
