Go with the proper base, use the extra space to make something cool and to the next kid that will complain tell him that the model is older, more expensive and cooler than him
and to the next kid that will complain tell him that the model is older, more expensive and cooler than him
And far more beautiful too :p
I think too that a tenderiser would fit. But, we have to consider that generally, the size of the beast (and so its capability to be aimed at by shooters) is a part of its balance in points. Well, not always in forgewolrd models' case, but most of time, if something is strong, it is big too, so that it is easy to shoot at.
So, i am thinking of putting a tenderiser AND a whirlwind on a big base (such as arachnarok's). Allow me to play two old pieces, and help me feel right when the machine hurt badly my opponent's army...
In the same way, i will probably try to custom a siege tower in order to make a juggernaut. And maybe this piece will be played as an iron daemon...
But it is only my opinion :)
++ "too bad i don't have tenderiser nor whirlwind yet :'("
The Tenderiser would make a much better Skullcracker than a vanilla Iron Daemon.
wallacer
The Tenderiser as Iron Daemon Skullcracker sounds like a cool idea.
I would mount it on a chariot base and make a bit of a scene on the base, perhaps raising it slightly on "rock" to elevate it a little for size comparison.
But overall sounds good. Look forward to pics :)
PS Im going to use a Dwarf Flame Cannon mounted on a 40K Ork Skorcha to represent the CD Magma Cannon (sitting on a chariot base).
There are so many possible conversion options out there to help you stand out from the FW sheep ;)
