£90 A team isn’t bad at all, that’s £45 each and for a whole weekend gaming. Having said that I’m going to Invasion doubles(40k 1 day) and thats £30 a team but that’s a small(ish) event.

50 dollars is a pretty standard tournament fee, kick in the fact that they are serving hot lunches on two days and hot dinner on the saturday… Dunnoh, not sure why this is an “insane price”. I guess it depends on what they serve, but if it’s a solid lunch/dinner, I’d pay it.
EDIT: That’s ninety pounds for two tournament entries, four lunches and two dinners. Yeah, ninety is about right.

Still I kinda fear what ‘bring your own scenery’ will amount into. All undead players will bring a Charnal Pit and all Gunlines a Hill with Scree slopes or worse…

Being forced to pay that price is bunk.
This is quite expensive, considering you also have to pay for travel & accommodation.
Probably around £240+ for the whole weekend.
£90 ticket, £70 accommodation for 2 nights & travel will vary.
But for me the train will be £120 for 2 people there & back.
A car will be half that.

Although £90 is quite high I suppose, but I’ve heard many good things about the event and the food is awesome! If you like that sort of thing. I would go if I had another decent, painted army as I have a place to stay nearby but I only have my Legion of Azgorh.

well they are hardly going to pay for your travel, its a hobby, you invest in the fun, you want to go, then that the costs will be ok. for those that live closer, £90 for a weekend fun, laughs, food and prizes isnt that much

I think GW should a lot more tournaments but for less.
& not just at WHW, it should roam the countr(y/ies).
& it would be a good channel to get see the players/hear the various comments from the whole community.
Perhaps make the tournaments more of a feature, like mantic & mtg do.
The games can still be friendly / fluffy.
That’s just my take on it.

I’ve always thought it well worth the money when i’ve been, The doubles are much more fun than the throne of skulls, the atmosphere is better and they have the little extras like the scenery competition, plus you get all the usual goodness, casual gaming, bar ervice at the table,
the pub quiz and the ero hammer, and the meals are very good by usual tournament standards.
