I really, really need some plastic warriors (iron warriors i can use to:)).
so do somebody know where i can find some(not too expensive i dont want it to be 30 euro for only 10 models.)
On ebay i had some but at the last 2 minutes essexgirl really had an high bith and my mum dont wanted i bidded more(:mad grrrr i will kill her someday).
and now i am stuck with a really small forceof around 600 points.
I hate that peson called essexgirl why does she do that,it is not funny leave the models to gamers i think.
I bed she dont play chaos dwarfs maybe even warhammer ,cause why do somebody wants 4 lammasus.
I hate her/him and if she reads this,i only ask this WHY!!!:mad
what do you think of that person?
bye fellow warlords and if you find him or her in person strangle that basterd.
What Essexgirl does is good business. She buys items as cheaply as possible whenever possible, and then sells them at a much higher price. If it weren’t for the fact that the figures she sells are OOP, I’d applaud her business ability. However, she directly contributes to the decline of CDs by making it nearly impossible to acquire the minis at less than ludicrous prices.
Well I think this topic might be a bit out of line here!
Yes she buys up all the CD’s and then sells them at higher prices but as Catbarf mentioned this is a marketing plan which would only work in a niche. E-bay isn’t the only place where you can buy chaos dwarfs and I personally think that finding and collecting an OOP army is the biggest fun for most people. I don’t really feel this is the right place for death treaths even though they’re not serious and think this is a very friendly forum we’ve got here and it should stay that way. I know I’m no mod but I hope you’re wise enough to edit your post and title…
It’s frustrating if you lose a bid but I don’t think cursing en treathening the person on a public forum is the solution.
Yeah, we’re all a little annoyed that someone is being so unscrupulous with things we want, but this isn’t a forum for vindictive rants and death threats.

Slavery, on the other hand, we're cool with.
Sorry, I just couldnt resist (seriously, no offence intended).
Hopefully the OP was intended to be taken with a grain of salt. I'm guessing from his grammar that he is probably fairly young.
Ya, I sorta got that impression as well, its understandable though, everyone has to let off steam occasionally, just maybe tone it down a bit (and maybe rephrase a couple of those sentences, as one of them suggests you want to kill your mum, which I think is a TAD harsh…).
Except I'm not suggesting anyone should go out and enslave people in real life, just like by playing Warhammer I'm not suggesting people should raise an army and invade somewhere :P
There really is a death threat in that first post and, last I checked, playing Warhammer is a hobby, not something that's worth getting genuinely pissed off about.

Wimp. :P

Fair enough.
I was just trying to make the point that the OP seems to be fairly young so it is probably more an indication of frustration than any real expression of genuine malice.

Which no one in a capitalist society(ies) is going to have an issue with. However we do not live in pure unadulterated capitalistic societies, nor would we want to. There is such a thing as price gouging and that is clearly what she does: buying something at $3.00 and selling it for $80.00 is such a case. That is price gouging. Now it could be argued that the market will be whatever she can get away with charging, that is true to a point, but clearly all of her competitors are not selling at + $70.00 margins (depending on item of course).
Check this tread on ideas to combat such abuse of eBay: https://discourse.chaos-dwarfs.com/t/5499
Part of your problem is that you are going crazy with this placing the minimum bid in and the bidding and refreshing like crazy. That’s just not a smart way to do things.
First of all, you need to figure out how much the models are ACTUALLY worth to you. Figure out what the cheapest conversion in terms of price and time would be compared to buying the item listed. It is crazy to pay $10 for a Chaos Dwarf Warrior figure that would cost you $3 to create a perfectly good equivalent out of a BoSP Dwarf figure or $7 if you would be ordering a Dwarf figure from GW and doing your conversion. Also, please take into account the shipping and handling when doing this.
Once you know how much the model is actually worth to you, just put that as your initial maximum bid and leave it. Perhaps you won’t win very often, but you’ll save yourself stress. And if someone outbids you, that just means they want it more and you should let it go.
However, no one can price gouge if your initial bid is how much the thing is actually worth to you. Because then essexgirl would have to pay more than it is worth to outbid you and whatever she turned around and tried to sell it for would be overpriced and no one would buy it (at least not for a while). With no profit margin, she’ll lose and sink.
The thing is that you just have to have the stomach and heart to put in what you’ll actually pay for originally and accept that you may very well be outbid. If you do it that way then the items you miss out on were just things you would have had to overpaid to get anyway or items that you would have had to stress over… and that’s just not worth it either way.

This is exactly what I've been saying: just pay reasonable prices and, no matter how much you might want something she's selling, don't cave to those kind of prices. No figure, no matter how rare (and especially ones that aren't that rare, like bull centaurs and blunderbusses) is worth what she's asking.
If no one buys from her (and we can at least be sure that no one here will) then she'll have to pander to the forces of supply and demand eventually and sell her models for whatever people will actually pay.
yeah i suppose by outbidding what her potential customers are willing to pay she is in effect shooting herself in the foot. i think her market is also more likely to be collectors than chaos dwarf players as its fairly obvious none ofus are going to pasy 40 for a model when we are happy to convert our own original ones instead.
I just hate it that she doesnt give us chaos dwarf generals a chance to get an army.
If it is all for the money i say "thx essexgirl that you screwt up my army".

But... my point is that even if you can't get the old 'official' models, just work on conversions and you can come up with something just as fitting and far more original and cooler than the old models. In fact, it would better match the other models from this edition because the 5th edition models are sized and shaped much differently than the current line. But, if you make your Chaos Dwarfs and Hobgoblins out of current line models, they'll match quite well.
That’s fine for those CD generals who are happy to get some BfSP figures and start converting, but there are a lot of CD players out there who want to collect all the old metal figures and have an army of them.
Anyway, I agree that before buying CDs (or anything for that matter) it’s a good idea to know your limit before you start shopping.
