[Archive] Wiki background: 100% official?

dromar:

Hello, i have a question for the community:

Are the wikipedia CD history official or not?

On warhammer french forum, we have developped a project of a CD updated army book that would concentrate all the CD background edited by GW: We want to be 100% official with the background and the rules edited for the V8, also 100% official.

So, wiki: viable or not?

Ancient History:

The CDO wiki? [[Chaos Dwarf History]], [[Chaos Dwarf References]] and the rest are summaries of official sources, yes.

cornixt:

There are a few fan fiction bits in the wiki but they should be pretty clearly marked. The rest are rewritten versions of the official CD fluff. You’ve better off getting the old 4/5th edition army book, which contains about 98% of the fluff in it’s official glory, especially if you plan to translate it into French.

dromar:

well, does anyone have the 4/5 edition army book here and wants to share it?
And for example, infomations about the gate of zharr and other places in the draks lands are official or fan maded?

Thommy H:

The Chaos Dwarf wiki on this site is made up from material from official sources. It should in fact be footnoted with sources in the articles, so you know for certain that it’s official.

cornixt:

I was meaning that it is usually best to go from the original source rather than any minor differences in interpretations that can occur when paraphrasing. Unless you can get hold of a physical copy you can get by with the wiki.

Grimstonefire:

The Gates of Zharr has practically nothing written about it. Thommy did a great story on it though if you’re interested.

Ancient History:

Worst comes to worst, you could always ask us.

dromar:

Ok, can you sum up what is written on the gate of zharr by GW here?

Thommy H:

There’s literally nothing. They’re just big gates in the middle of nowhere, marking the road between Gorgoth and Zharr-Naggrund.
