Purple Chaos Dwarfs?? Ridiculous.

I don’t like the Dominator or war machines style. They look a bit too 40k. I think the Dominator looks a bit goofy from the front - like a weird Chaos dreadnaught, but good from the side.

I’m still not sure about the Taurus. The shape and pose are good, but it also has that 40k look in places.

I like everything else. Lots of female Chaos Dwarfs for the first time from GW. Love the Bull Centaurs.

The Hashutite spears make for easy great weapon or halberd conversions. The Flamehurlers might be a reasonable proxy for fireglaives - maybe just stick an axehead on them too.

Saying that, I’m really only short of Hobgoblins in my current army and didn’t like the Kruleboyz enough to get them. I really prefer these new ones so I will get at least a unit of them and stick them on square bases. Probably won’t get any of the others except maybe some characters.

I love it!

As others have mentioned some of them seem very “high tech” but to me that is a problem with AoS, a burden I happily bear to finally have an official army.

I really like what they did with the hats: stylish, dwarven and actually reasonable. ALso the skullmask as a visor is a great homage to the mask style and the Hellcannon crew.

Would have liked a monster taurus instead of robot, but I feel I can not complain.

I like that GW is adding a lot of varied heads, especially more women. Hashut cares not who does the trampling!

That’s a fair shout I hadn’t noticed lots of female Chaos dwarfs in there!

Overall I’m reasonably pleased

The war machines should’ve been more daemonic but overall I think it’s a good army set.

The dominators would need some extensive work imo. But I’d have to give lots of thought to what I’d want them to be

I like them, even that they look a bit too much warcrafty hearthstone Gul’dan stylish, is acceptable ok.

Not disappointed but also not overly impressed, maybe its the generic slop paint scheme but they look rather dull. The Hobgoblins however, huge improvement, they’ve obviously taken the main critiques and improved, namely the reintroduction of hunch backs and hats

Looking at the dominators more closely, I think if they had a steam engine on the back, and some flames on the shoulders I reckon they would be pretty perfect actually

Everything except the bull centaurs is just terrible…

Renders are by far my favorite models of this release with the hobgoblins probably being a close second.

Those Renders look like they’d fit on a monstrous calv base… but I know AoS can sometimes have a slightly larger scale at times.

Entirely middle of the road for me. Neither too dissapointed nor too excited. It’s nice we now have models to proxy for old world, they didn’t diverge very far nor go too close to the originals.

Interesting design choices and not altogether awful (though not a fan of the grots), but with one or two exceptions (bull centaurs perhaps) I doubt I’ll go in for these unless for conversion material. I’ve gone Steampunk with my take on CDs for years, but some of these lean significantly toward futuristic sci-fi with the very clean geometric armor, off-road buggy wheels, and the blunderbuss, flamer, and cannon designs.

I like them a lot. I’ll be bruteforcing these into my bighat army as elites or something.

There’s some real big hits for me in these

This guy’s being my favourite right now, the walking pedestal is fantastic

I’ve seen some edits of the Taurus in stone rather than metal which looks a lot better, the Taurus and the Dreadnought was the biggest aesthetic choices I need to get used to and I’m not convinced yet. I always liked my 90’s and Marauder Dwarfs being surrounded by monsters and as expected with all the latest Chaos Dwarf stuff this leans more into demonic engine motif. Though I do like the lore reason they don’t want anything natural.

Infantry I really enjoyed seeing, including our green skinned ones.

Overall loved seeing the big hats return and can’t wait to get my hands on the plastics and see what I can make from all this. I’m in the middle of painting Cities of Sigmar Greywater Fastness, who also hate all things natural in Ghyran and I love the idea of some Chaos Dwarfs fighting over the same natural resources, one to destroy them and the other use them and both just decimating Ghyran whilst they do it

Honestly I’m not overly impressed. I get they have to differentiate the AoS aesthetic from the old world one but it’s a stark contrast with what we have for blood bowl. The biggest let down for me are the big hats, although I’d like to see them unpainted as the paint job is terrible here, they are extremely blocky and not very warhammer-y if you ask me.

The whole look screams modern mmo/battle royale game, with the not-organic style (which is common in aos apparently).

The best unit is definitely the bull centaurs, they look nice with the right paint job and some light de-aosization they will look the part. They also have an alternate build with great weapons which is nice. The weird bull-heads could be useful for a k’daai conversion also. The only issue is that they are a little too armoured, but that’s mostly a tow problem as they apparently forgot they are supposed to have heavy armour and armoured hide (2).

I also like the sorceror that is turning to stone, it’s pretty cool and definitively usable. There is a sort of battle standard bearer also (or is it the infantry’s banner?

The regular infantry is certainly a choice, spear and shield is a weird choice for dwarves within the warhammer world, still it’s a simple weapon replacement. The kit also includes the name of the weapon so this might suggest there may be a kit with different weapons? There is a guy with a 2 handed weapon on the preview. My main gripe here is still the hats, they are way too blocky and neither mesopotamian or train-conductory.

The bull is also a choice. I guess one could use it as a sort or infernal-engine substitute for an actual bale taurus, kinda like a sorcerer prophet making his own k’daii infused bronze bull statue as a mount which is interesting; the issue is that it will probably be waaay to big, those big AoS centerpieces usually sit on a 130mm base or bigger, and this one doesn’t look different, so it won’t fit on a 60x100 mm base at all (also look at how smaller the dwarf on top looks compared to forgeworld’s drazoth). It’s a BIG miniature which also means big prices: most of those go for 150€ unfortunately.

The Hob grots look ok to me. I recently gor a load of hobgrot slittaz who are perfect for sneaky gitz and was planning to convert some to regular hobgoblins with bows. I guess I’ll wait to see if these new ones also come with bows (i hope they do), the fact that they are clothed and have the gnome-like hat is a nice nod to the old ones. They could certainly be used as a nice base for wolf riders conversions!

The worst unit is definitely the artillery, they look like the fake wooden mock-ups german would put out during ww2 to trick allied reconnaissance planes.

Edit: the big bull demon engine could also prove an interesting base for a k’daai destroyer conversion, for those who play 8th edition or wap. Again it might be super expensive as all aos minis end up being

Just noticed this armoured hand clasp holding up the cape on his back.

I’d have to agree on the artillery.

It needs some work to look more chaos. I’m thinking stars on the wheels, some skulls on the base etc.

The artillery needs some daemonic bits. Maybe from the skull cannon

Artillery also needs girth cough

I think after being used to seeing things like the helcannon and earthshaker canons over the years the shafts cough always had girth cough

The canon just seems to lack that, you know…girth cough cough
