Made an alternate head. Still needs a bit more cleaning up and simplifying. Plus it looks too much like Biden merged with Lincoln.
I put together the model in the same proportions and style as the 4th edition models. He looks pretty comical with such proportions, I think I made his head a smidge too big, it’s almost a chibi.
Here he is:
I was planning to make a few with different hats, but then decided to do a hatless version and separate hats.
I’ll probably add a few more hats but I am running out of ideas. The one of the far right looks more like the poop emoji than it did in my head. I don’t really want to do the skull iconography, just the arrows. Need to add a decent champion-style hat, probably with horns on it.
Here’s the hat for my champion.
Added it to the hats here, although it’s not in the picture:
The hats might be the wrong scale for the hatless dwarf. I’ll let you scale them for yourselves.
I spotted a black orc model that recreates the pose of the old plastic black orc from 4th edition out of other orc models. It didn’t look quite armoured enough to me, so I added a bit of plate mail over the shoulder more like the old model and then added a bigger axe to his hand. Before and after shot:
Felt the need to do a blunderbuss version of the classic warrior. Chose to give him a different helmet to the axeman to mark him as being different, but he is still pretty much the same guy. I did fix the pauldrons even if they probably look so similar you couldn’t tell.
Made the blunderbuss a bit bigger and it gave me the momentum to make a more forward-facing version. The proportions on these is a bit odd to begin with, the comically oversized features look a bit odd in the best of positions, but when aiming the gun forwards it is more obvious. So I’m not 100% happy with the pose, but it works well enough.
I think the trick is hiding the face with the gun, its what almost all the classic proportioned chorf aiming down sculpts do.
