Great balls of fire

What would you speculate is the reason for all the glowing green gems/ whatever it is, on the new models.

The obvious flames fair enough. But the other bits?

If it’s representative of each of them carrying a bound Daemon or something that’s… Random.

They said on the stream its raw daemon essence bound to their weapons

As someone who wasn’t the biggest fan of all the demon binding lore from the late chaos dwarfs of ToW I must admit I do really like that each of these weapons has a demon bound to it like that. What a great way to represent it.

The green is even growing on me, obviously used just to separate us from the Fyreslayers etc.

As a range too we have infantry, artillery, ranged infantry, magicians and priests and war machines so to have the demon bound balls theme running through each of them is good to tie it all together

I’m not really a fan of it, daemon binding was always implied to be extremely dangerous and something only the big wigs (hats) got as a result of their daemon-smithing skill. I think having every grunt in your army wield a daemon-essence blade kind of cheapens the effect.

If they actually looked like daemonic weapons it would make sense… But just a Daemon battery on the side doesn’t really work

I like the concept, but not the execution.

I think in terms of everyone having a Daemon weapon, you’d send your warriors to battle with the best weapons right.

Yeah but if it’s that easy to crank them out en masse why don’t chaos also do it?

Well because we undercut the competition

Each to their own of course.

I saw it big boy demonsmith binding all the weapons and sending them out for sure, rather them each of them binding their own.

Like Grim said you’d want to be sending everyone out with at best, these aren’t the shameful LoA after all.

Maybe Chaos don’t want to pay the price for it, I’m sure our fair Chaos Dwarfs overlords would give them a fair price

Also it does help separate these from being just mini chaos warriors by not giving away to everyone

In WHFB a deamon weapon implies one bound deamon per weapon, but it seems like the Helsmiths use “dark energy formed from refined and processed daemons”. So it’s more like they have ritually slaughtered and bound their “deamon juice” into their weapons
To me this implies that these weapons aren’t that strong individually compared to classic deamon weapons. But easier to mass-produce.
