I had put mining rig #2 on the back burner to get the first one completed, but I’ve been putting in 30-minute sessions here and there since then to get it finished, and here it is:
The Genestealer Cult Goliath is a great kit, and lots of fun to paint. It’s hilarious to think that this is the biggest thing most GSC players will get to paint when it’s so small - that range really needs a few more releases!

And another!
An officer - probably a Centurion - for my Heresy Iron Hands project. I started on it a while ago, and it’s been waiting for the non-metallics and silver since then. I dedicated a couple of hours a few nights this week, and ground out the finished product.
The goal of figuring out how to enjoy metallic paints still eludes me. I have two models left in this project - just the Saturnine Dreadnought and a Saturnine Praetor. I’m hoping to have them done this month, at which point I’ll assess whether I want to keep working on the Xth Legion or pack them away forever.

A few little additions arrived yesterday:

Included are a Palanite Tauros Venator (because my Militia partner last weekend ran one in his list to great effect), two Rapier Tarantulas (which I hoped would fit into the Tauros turret ring, but alas), Commodore Gaius Silva from the Wardens of Ultramar box (to be another fleet-looking officer in my Militia) and a Servitor (he has a gun).
I’ve already built and primed the Tauros:

I’m still sick, but I’m not quite feeling sickly enough to just spend the week laying around on the couch.
So, painting continues.
There was some decent weather today and I did some priming, then while I was waiting for some other models to dry I painted these:
A pair of Tarantula sentry guns.
Since I can’t just plop them into the turret ring on my Venator, I figured I’d just build and paint them in as neutral a scheme as possible so they can make friends with any Legion army I decide to run them with.
