Basing and contemplating a flag for a new unit of hobgoblin wolf riders. I’ve finished the painting on the command plus 2 for the first line of 5. I have 5 more that I plan to sort, but lots of small stuff to wrap up a couple of units, including some flags, basing and movement trays, so I’ve been slow to produce pics. Been concentrating as well on my Golden Hat entry which I’m happy with now, so that needs photographing and submission… RL work though has been quite busy though, and as much as I’d love for this to be my full time occupation, naaah - it’s much more fun as a hobby.
No pics tonight, but I promise to make some time and get these up shortly.
I took a quick shot of the wolf riders just now - still has basing and flag to sort, but figures are sorted… will take better shots when that’s sorted… Did serious shots today too of my Golden Hat entry. I’ll process them this weekend and will get them in when I find a free moment.
You mean like this? Almost sorted, have to finish the tray and paint the back of the flag / stiffen it up a bit with a bit of PVA / mount it… I’m pretty chuffed with the results over all.
Not the best shot, but this group of 5 is finished, so I thought to share right away. I like the flag, it came out pretty good imho. I’m working on another group of 5 now, finished the wolves yesterday and started the riders today. I’m a pretty big fan of these; I wish they weren’t so tough to find… Anyway, here’s that group. The first attempt at a monumental leep for Zharralid! You translated my Old Norse poem! Dum shuti na Dawi; dum grat na Ankor. (A small step for Chorfs, a great leap for Chorfdom!) I’ll try to take a look at it this weekend and will pm comments!
I’ll work through this this weekend, while I have a little time Pelegrinus. I think it will be an interesting way for us to look at things, particularly because of the limited lexicon that we have. I’ve started work on it and there’s a lot to consider, because I wrote it in Old Norse in sagic meter (fornyrðislag - Like what’s used in the Edda to be specific… I’ve got an academic interest in this meter in particular because I am also interested in early Germanic meter in Gothic and Proto-Scandinavian and what we can gleen from poetic fragments from these languages. )
In any case, that very much guided my writing of this piece, not that I’d expect you to recognize that. It will be interesting to see how well or how poorly Zharralid can bring that across. I think that it’s monumental that you were able to address the short poem lexically! That in itself I think is huge!
