Really nice tank. Your casting of the wheels worked really well. I have tried this before myself and the wheels were a bit off-shaped . Great to see you back painting cd stuff again.

Thank you! Yes, making actual painting progress on my Chaos Dwarfs is very rewarding.
The bombard wheels came out pretty well, the Hellcannon ones are quite janky 
But it really doesn’t matter for this project. And those chaos stars actually hide a lot! I’m also happy I painted them for this project, so I’ll know to NOT glue them on when I paint my Hellcannon.

I didn’t spy the kharadron bit, which fits seamlessly. Lots of tough cleanup work you did here.
What’s your take on the merits of brown schtuff vs the green variety vs milliput. Right now I tend to have the latter two on hand and mix them together as needed but always looking to expand the arsenal of silliputtys.
Good luck with the 3d printing endeavors. Checking all the boxes of some of the @MichaelX artisan entries of yesteryear.

Thank you so much! At some point quite early I struggled to get that image I had in my mind onto the models. Xander’s work was quite inspirational at that time. But a few things were in place right from the start, including that Kharadron bits. I was lucky to have it lying around unneeded. It fits well indeed.
So, I’m not the most accomplished putty user here. I’ve had a lot of green stuff over the years and thrown a lot of it away. Finding the one which comes separated was a huge step for me. Milliput I’ve used a batch of this “extra white” stuff which is usually used for ceramics and I wouldn’t recommend it. I found it quite messy. So for this project I ordered blue stuff and also had a look around my OGS because I wanted to use fresh green stuff. I then stumbled upon brown stuff and it was marketed as staying malleable longer than green stuff. I kinda took a plunge. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Part of it might have been that it was a fresh batch, that’s always good, but it indeed was malleable for a long time and worked really well with the blue stuff mold. If the mold was good enough, the brown stuff even picked out quite fine detail. It was not messy at all, my hands looked quite clean. So yeah, if you want something to work with for a longer time than green stuff but which gets very hard once cured (supposed to be harder than cured green stuff, may well be) I can recommend brown stuff.
