I’ve been out of practice for painting for a while so I’m not 100% happy (especially the face and eyes) but I’m ok with the overall silhouette and the base. Will be working on my hobgoblin chieftain next… ![]()

Churned out my Hobgoblin Chieftain tonight.
lacking his shield obviously but such is the pain of sub-assembly.
I find blue to be a strangely difficult to paint, which makes me nervous about finally painting my Lammasu, but I’ll try and run some test schemes.
I wonder, did you ever paint your kitbashed Lammasu?
He is currently still sitting on my shelf half-done. I mean to sculpt a mane for him and a proper saddle for the rider, then I can paint. I have kept putting this off though… I also need to paint figure out a blue paint scheme for his skin.
In fact, I’ll do some work on him now
I’ve made some alterations to the Lammasu including adding bigger horns and giving him a mane. I’m happy with him now I just need to sort out the chair sitting properly on his back and some kind of seat for the rider.
Glad my post helped you find a motivation ![]()
Hail Brothers in Darkness!
I think I am now in a position to call my Lammasu “complete”!
I’m very happy with the final result. The rider is fairly tight and a bit awkward so if I were to do it all over again I’d have the wings hang lower. Originally I was going to have him rearing but I think I will now have him on a stick to be mid-flight. Since the last post I’ve added some fabric on his back plus a riders pillow. A mace tail from the skaven plague monks kit, some gems on his horns, and minor adjustments. I’ve also added the flag poles and toppers nodding to the old model.
Once he is all dry and I’ve made a couple more tweaks I will prime him and start practicing a nice blue I like.
Awesome work! Love it! ![]()
