Plunder for the Ironclad Fleet [Dec 12 2023 - Pa Rum BumBumBum]

Such a glorious idea to use the Zonk sorcerer to reinvent Astragoth! I love it, it was the first entry to get my vote.

How can you not love him! Great conversion and the lightning bolts are winderful.

These look lovely. I have been scouring the net for colour schemes that suit the style depicted in Tamurkhan and I think what you have here fits the bill nicely!

I assume these are at 100% scale on 25mm bases?

Mind me asking what colour recipe you used?

Thanks! Roughly my process for the metals here is:

Airbrush

  • Zenithal prime
  • basecoat vallejo Earth
  • thinned warcolours violet 5 (from front / below)

Brush

  • thinned tin bitz
  • drybrush vallejo brassy brass
  • wash with black mixed with some violet 5
  • drybrush brassy brass again
  • selectively highlight with bright bronze

There are some other colors for straps (browns), cloth (maroons), etc

Neither actually. Models scaled between 85-90% and they’re on 22.5mm bases… muahhhaha, chaos

Hope that helps!

Ooooo sneaky sneaky indeed!

It’s big, it’s hats.
It’s bighats bitches.

Presenting the James Fab Fuggit Zonk Workshop Blunderbusses coming straight to you from the why did I use so many dam colors workbench.

Between the community sourced models and community sourced schemes there’s almost nothing original in here! (Except the Mage Knight steam golem filler, except I copied the idea from @KhamdrimSkyMaster nevermind, loosely Mercurymon from Digimon inspired too)

Really love the Bluebeard Pirate… now what am I missing…
Admiralty Anvil hat banner? Oh right! Brawnderbusses!

Alas, I sits on my walletses and waits. Glad to have this unit done. I couldn’t escape that Astrazonk kitbash without needing to scratch the bighat sized itch a little (lot) more.

Oooof, these look just awesome, even among your usual high standard. Love them!

That’s a big, beautiful regiment. I can no longer look on blunders as quite so pants on the battlefield as I used to, because of how totally murderous they are in TWW

It’s stoopid large for having no repeat sculpts! But could in theory be run as two units still with full command if desired. Sneaky back rank musicians are a power move nobody is talking about.

Blunderbuss envy

I love having multiple command in a unit, a banner and horn every couple of ranks is a great look

Holy smokes! Excellent work, I keep finding new details. I haven’t seen the smouldering barrel innards before, and I love it. Totally going to copy that.

I do believe credit goes to Laketide Miniatures Army Showcase for that idea.

The lightning bolts and fiery transition are masterfully done. All the moreso for painting over a black background!

Magnificent! I wouldn’t have thought it possible to have a unit at once so colorful, i.e. using every prime color to some degree, and yet look so coherent and well balanced. Magical!

Alongside my latest round of bastard sculpting, I’ve finally crossed the finish line on my second unit of bikini bottom chaffe!

Old mage knights and @tjub sculpts pave the way for filling this piecemeal unit with tiny monstars to fit and rank up nicely. The whole Tjub range belongs in 28mm WHFB if you ask me. Who’s ready for TOW? Everyone needs some miniature duck billed lava platypus cows in their life. Call it a Dark Lands Roomba for short. Also featured is a poorly sized Oss head that craved his own miniature tjubling sized bastard.

I wish I could remember who to credit for the beagle crab idea (turns out the SEO on beagle crab is pretty effective)

@Bowser linked me to the Lamarckdromia beagle “fluffy crab”. Obviously couldn’t resist a crab with a mustache. The Tjubling Prawn centaur (prawntaur?) is a DIY, in Tjub’s style best I could muster, that I had planned for an old centaur contest but never finished. (in fact the same centaur contest that spawned the beagle crab)

I’m happy with colors in the animated mud (and definitely not just Muk) that is my take on how seepage from a daemon engine that sprung a leak onto the forge floor would look. The mage knight on the left was a former wood elemental that I repurposed into lava. Poor manticore had his wings looted for some old vampire conversion so he gets duty as a pygmy lamassu. Blood angels sanguinary guard power hammer back makes for a decent Mesopotamian hat top?

Here are the freaks and geeks all ranked up. The Admiralty I spy is not as difficult on this unit as the last. But a fun game might be to try and guess all the different mini manufacturers that are represented.

You’d probably have to scour the older posts to sleuth the niche mini companies hidden in here.

Go forth my mini minions of mayhem. These problematic failed experiments go straight to the front line and us daemonsmiths can only hope they die along with a few enemies.

Straight from Willy Zonka’s Chocolate Factory we have this everlassting gobstopper lobber.

The model definitely needed gap filling and some choice details added to the business end.

Overall quite fun to paint. I think the Tjub Hoover cow and the iconic Chaos toilet fit right in. No doubt this vile creature leaves behind some refuse that needs flushing. For some reason I always feel these asscannons need the @Zanko retinue diorama treatment.

Love it!

Even squeezed a chaos toilet in for extra chaos-ness

How many painted ass cannons are you on now?

Great diorama and great models. The chaos toilet is amazing! :hatoff: As always, it’s bursting with creativity and attention to detail!
