Presenting @Admiral ‘s tugboat, only depicted in concept art. Somebody besides me must be dreaming of completing their Admiralty minis miniboat collection with this unreleased gem, right? Right guys? Erhm…
I neglected to mention in my ziggurat post. I have plans to complete the piece with a fleet of tugboats. Wasn’t able to get it done on the Artisan’s timeline but Theodore the Zharr Tug is ready for scanning and cloning.
Relative to its size, this thing took a laughable amount of time, especially when compared to the biggurat. The pain of hand sculpting chain on a wire is not something I recommend trying but I just couldn’t find a jewelry or hobby chain that was appropriately sized and would scan/print well. Or maybe it was just for the pride of full DIY so near at hand.
My one piece of genius was making a custom stamp out of plasticard scrap and gluing it to a dull blade to make the latticework. This thing took patience in abundance, being so small it was hard to do more than one detail a day in my sparse hobby time.
Does this thing exist only because I was stagnating/procrastinating in the face of the ziggurat and a deadline? Maybe so.
Off across the sea to @MichaelX we go! Someday the STL for this will go up on the forum for free for anyone needing to tow their uhm checks notes Sea Ziggurat.. around. Someday I would like to write a MoW scenario using the ziggurat and tugboats. Or even some simple convoy or pirate salvaging scenarios using just the tugs.
