Thank you all for your help. It gives me a little more insight into his last hours. Corbin loved this community. He even got my husband involved in painting and his girlfriend was able to rescue some of his figures (which he threw into the rubbish) on Sunday 28th. We have some of those figures now - but I can’t bear to look at them yet.

Those models will keep and will still be there for you when the time is right. While they may look odd and weird (my wife certainly thinks mine do) those pieces you have still represent something that was positive in his life - they brought him some small measure of joy (not to be too corny), fun times spent with friends (on-line and in person), and I’m absolutely certain that the creation and painting of them would have brought calm to his mind and some inner peace. I don’t think about these things when I look at the things I’ve made, but I do have a sense, deep down, that those things I’ve made are a manifestation of the hours of calm enjoyment, fun personal challenges, and the inner peace I experienced while making them. Those are all positive things and I promise you they were present in his life and he experienced them too. He was a wonderful member of our community.
P.S. About a year ago some of us were working on a project and discussing if we should get Pyro involved.

Thanks for posting about this. Are there any details yet, like timing, etc? Is there anything in particular that goes on with one of these things? I’ve never participated in one before. Do we just join by voice and chat while we’re working on hobby stuff??

I’ve just set the time to 8pm GMT for the time being, but the general idea was just to have hobby hangouts throughout the day, actually. There’s a few people to the east, a large chunk of us in Europe and then a US based group. Getting everyone together is next to impossible anyway…
As for what happens - yeah pretty much as you said! People joining in the audio-chat on discord, some even enable video, people just painting, building, 3d-sculpting, basically anything they want! Some just hang out and don’t really do anything 🙂
For this occasion we could for sure think about doing something special, though. So far I just announced it so people could mark it in their calendar.

My wife and I just had a small craft ‘shed’ build on our summer property on the East coast (completed a few weeks ago). We have not used it yet, but I’ll be there on the 29th and we’ve got wifi out there… sounds like a great way to christen the new hobby diggs.
I’ll need to give some thought to what I want to work on! Maybe a nice easy unit of 20 Axemen or something? I have a few such units kicking around that I can pack up to take out there and the paints are easy to cart along or just buy when I arrive :wink: Can’t wait!!

I’m sorry that the planned get-together was a bit fumbled. However, we have a scheduled Discord hang-out every two weeks on Tuesday evenings (21:00, gmt+2). I’m committed to showing up to get some sculpting done, including a project I initially started with Corbin!

Not to worry, a few of us managed to get online and the same time and I had a great afternoon at the seaside painting some Chaos Dwarfs while getting to chat and interact with members of the community, I thought it was very nice. Would love to do it again some time!!
