I have been slaving away at the Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd Edition grindstone over the past months and this is what I have to show for it thus far.
Further to this I am working on the Advanced Rules, Magic and Bestiary to the WFB 3E rulebook, considering some terrain highlights for Siege (let’s face it who wouldn’t want to build a Chaos Dwarf citadel?), and thinking about how to work in some Chaos Goblins to the army too.
When I started getting into 3rd edition I was disappointed how little information there was out there on the game. Nice to see someone filling the gap. You cover it in so much detail, have you thought about doing a briefer overview after you have completed the series?
Hello mate, thanks very much for the comment. Yes I have considered it, but it’s such a huge beast it’s a little hard to know where to start with summarising it. I guess I could do a 20-30min summary video touching each of the main sections in 5mins or so, that might do the trick!
Yes, this!
I found some video but it didn’t enough to get a good picture of what people liked about it. Looking forward to watching those here.
I think it was when TOW was told to become a best-of of all editions prominently enough including the 3rd, when I went out to fill the gap. Or when people told “oldhammer” was 3rd and it was a thing b/c it was different and had some qualities over the later editions (and was more “trve” anyway).
Or both.
I’m a big fan of 3rd Ed as it’s what was around when I first started playing, shortly followed by 4th about a year later. It boggles my mind that GW can’t create something as evocative today with all the money and people at their disposal and yet they continue to pump out stuff that I just can’t get excited about. I guess it’s my age or something!
