1st 1k5 list for 2025

I am working on a 1k5 list for use at a local gaming club. Looking for a good balance between fun and competitive. Not sure whether to have 20 Hobs with weapons as a second big block, or 2x10 with bows. Thoughts?

This is a very fun list. 2*10 hobo archers for sure is more versatile. A fourth bulltaur and great weapons on all of them would make them have more of an impact on the battlefield. The lamassu is a tricky beast to play correctly. With daemonology, he’s likely to be more geared towards melee. That being the case, the lamassu absolutely needs the mace tail! The exhalation is ok, but again difficult to get any use out of.

Thank you, switched out the hobs for archers, added the mace tail and added an Ogre loader. Will look at upgrading the Centaurs if I go to 2k.

I’m thinking 2 old-school centaurs per base will be a fine representation? I want to keep the old-school look

Hi Eddie,

Overall I like the list. A couple of high level strategic thoughts.

  1. for a detachment, I prefer fireglaives over blunderbuss since they can either stand and shoot or counter charge, whereas blunderbusses can only really shoot.

  2. I usually take one war machine per infernal engineer rule so that they are more reliable.

  3. For a sorcerer on Lammasu I would take elementalism or dark magic with lore familiar. Daemonology doesnt really vibe well with the mount given its limited attack profile.

  4. Any saved pointed I would reinvest into buffing up your Sorcerer: armor of meteoric iron/silvered steel, talisman of protection, healing potion, and luckstones can make him much more survivable.

  5. Your Khan should have a great weapon or some way of improving his attack profile.
