2klist for mountain pass

Here are my opponent’s list and mine.

We will be playing either friday or saturday next week and I was wondering if any of you would mind sharing some tips. I though it might be a good idea to focus the vampire general with the Deathshrieker Rocket Launchers taking advantage of the rerolls offered by the sorcerer to fish some headshoots but it’s my first time playing the sons of Hashut.

Not gonna lie, this is gonna be an uphill battle for you… It’s an ok battle plan you have, but if the opponent pushes up, you have only at most 2 turns to turn your deathshriekers into absolute MVPs.

Your lamassu has no ward save. I’d suggest getting some, if you intend to bring him into CC, where daemonology shines.

The dragon and terrorgheist are gonna be your main headaches. Luckily CD’s have high leadership vs the screams, but it’s no guarantee. The dragon is gonna smash. Besides the artillery, and maybe a charge from the iron daemon, you have nothing that can really threaten it

I must admit that not taking elementalist on the prophet sorcerer was a mistake.

I hope that he gets baited by the terrorgheist’s scream and leaves him in charge range for the iron daemon after taking a couple wounds from the steam cannonade and some random magic missile.

Do you think it might be better to focus something else with the rockets?

Dark magic for the -T spell could also be a viable choice to help bring down the big baddies (especially considering your “measly” S6 on the demo rockets)

No, the big guys are the prime targets, even if you have to fire indirectly. Your army can take care of the rest of the stuff

If you are looking to tailor a list to fight just this.

Consider upgrading infernal guard for Ironsworn for the veteran and drop a few.

Also add black orcs in with veteran.

Take black orc boss. I normally put the collar of zorga on him against the dragon if you rhink you can bait him in or grisly trophy rack for the -1 ld for ressing.

I think with a few tweaks this list is easily beatable if you can pin the dragon down. I would be more concerned if he was running more screams.

And then pretty much what everyone else said.

We had to submit a list without knowing who each one played, so no changes can be made to the list. The match will take place next friday and I will update you all on how it went.

Any tips or strategies are wellcomed

As others have said then, you need to put every effort into the Necromancer lord on dragon, even ignoring the terror if you need to, then find a way to beat him in combat res if not outright dead.

At least thats been my game plan up to now.

Quick update, the game was a mess. Went first, one deathshrike exploded, second one didn’t shoot, nearly threw the mini out the window. Vampire player moves defensively and keeps his general out of range.

Second turn everyone got a chance at shooting, bad rolls with magic and 1 wound into the terror from a unit of hobgoblins, the last standing deathshrike managed to land a 5 wound shot onto the terror killing it (dont praise them just yet).

ThIrd turn, charges from the bats and wolves into the hobgoblin units, hold and fire and won combat by a lot ; both units eliminated. And for the grand finale, the last deathshrike explodes.

Had to end it early since the oponent had to leave and ended up with a draw (won by 21 points). Having lost nothing but a measly hobgoblin and both war machines.

The iron daemon got stuck for 2 turns trying to finish the unit of black knights (killed nothing on 3 consecutive combats).

The sneaky gitz chased the necromancer just because the other player was scared of getting him into combat and managed to get him out of position for counterspelling and casting.

The khan managed to redirect a charge by fleeing away from the black knights and managed to get them tied up with the iron daemon.

Magic was a pain, bad rolls and really good dispells from my oponent meant no value from any magic missiles (even the ruby ring of ruin).

The prophet sorcerer on lamassu posed a threat on the battlefield and forced him to rethink a couple of charges but ended up being pretty much useless.

Next round is due this month and we are allowed renegade lists I will make a new post once the matches are set!

I am praising it! A Terrorgheist is 205 points and about the deadliest thing in the whole army. Even if your two Deathshriekers combined did nothing more than to kill it, that’s 240 pts well spent! Thing had the potential to cost you much more.
