I just started it last night. So far the first episode was pretty great.
I read the books back in HS and the story/characters are slowly coming back to me.

Oh nice! I have no exposure the source material other than seeing someone else reading the book in the break room at lunch during a summer job return I was in my 20s, lol.
I loved it too. The english protestant will probably make it big. Good actor

I got caught up to episode 3. It’s really good so far. I can’t help but like the Spanish pilot too.

Just watched episode 4. Another good one. 
It is one the best shows made in years!
I’ve seen the first episode by now and… I’m not convinced. Maybe I’ll continue one day with less expectations.
It is well made, but it is all so western, they speak western, even in Japanese… the overly obvious identification figures and love interests… and all of it wrapped in lots Japan cliches. Idk, maybe I was not in the mood for this, but I couldn’t enjoy it.
(Although this time I was less annoyed than when trying watching Blue Eye Samurai some time ago, which had somewhat related problems.)
