At some point I got away from Warhammer (and wargaming), mostly because I hate painting. Eventually a number of things drew me back into it, and my history-nerd side and my nerd-nerd side combined and I wound up building tall ships.
I chose to build in 1/600 scale, even though 1/1200 is more common had as many more resources available because I wanted these initially for display, and not gaming. Now, well, I keep building them and I may need to be stopped.
The first few I built were built to a plan, but the next batch has all been scratchbuilt. It’d been a learning process for sure, but I have been enjoying it immensely.
