Yes, I know, there isn’t an Earthshaker. The list is fairly static, but the wolf unit can ride ahead and take care of anything that’s advancing too quickly. Too bad they don’t get a rank bonus though.
I went with the Sorcerer as my General for magic defense mostly, though I bumped him up to lvl 2 in hopes of getting a spell or 2 off on my turn.
I guess it all boils down to how magic heavy your gaming environment is. Even in 2000pts, the dozen or so guys I play with rarely that a Lv4. One Orc player does but two scrolls and 4 Dispel Dice are normally enough to scrap through.
