So my first 1k. I think its kind of odd to start an escalation league at 1k but whatever… either way Ive got about 1 week to get it together.

Dark Castilian

Talismin of Protection, Iron Curse, Shield 157 pts

Hobgoblin Kahn on Giant wolf. He got a spear to eat up 2 points and light armor. 54pts

Infernal Guard with GWs’ x26 and full command. (I could drop the champ as the Castillian will be bunkered up in here) Champ got a pistol to eat up 2 points. Unit also got +1 LD banner. 439 pts

Bull Centaur Renders x3(Id almost rather go with a block of Hobbos but the time allowed going forward will not see them painted before the first 1k not likely to see the BCs’ painted by then but its much more feasible)

Great Weapons 150 pts

Deathshrieker x2 200 pts

Looks pretty good I think…if it were me I would try to add the Ruby Ring for the Khan on wolf.

And possibly go with an Iron Daemon instead of 2 Deathshriekers, for the simple reason that with so few points/units being fielded, a competent opponent will easily put both Deathshriekers out of the game pretty quick due to lack of coverage/mobility on your side to protect them.

An Iron Daemon won’t have that problem (in theory :cheers)

Don't have the BRB handy but I could probably drop the odd pistol/spear ect and get the Ruby Ring. How about the ID? Drop 1 deathsreiker but thats still another 135pts I need to come up with. Drop some IG and the champ from the unit?

Tonight is the first 1k for the league. Ill be running the list above with some slight adjusting to fit the ruby ring but the blocks and war machines. Ill be playing aganst Beastmen tonight. He will have a bunch more dudes but the quality of their leadership will be low!

I am looking forward for more slaves for the mines.

Pulled off a lucky win! The way it went down follows:

Opponent T1 (later on will be O2,ect)

Runs forward and casts movement spell. Fails to ambush

My Turn 1 (Later on M2, ect)

Bull Centaurs Charge a smallish unit of Ungor skirmishers that moved too close, Kahn darts off toward the right flank. I am set up to the left table edge. Infernal Guard hold fast. Kahns’ ruby ring is stopped. Both rockets misfire and load up duds, the BCs’ misjudge the gap in the terrain. They obliterate the ungors but get hung up(bad news…:sick)

O2

Charges stuck BCs’ with Tuskgor Chariot, and a block of RnF ungors with spears. Minos move into position to charge the Infernal Guard. Block of Gors with general come arround a stand of trees on the right and look upon the Kahn supported by a second tuskgor chariot. His ambushers roll a 1 and move in on his table edge.

He skips magic as his caster is out of range of units that want to be in HtH this turn. His first Tuskgor chariot scores 5 impact hits and 3 wounds. One BC dead…The ungors land another wound and the chariot crew land 2 more killing a second BC. Enranged the remaining BC hits and kills 2 ungors. He runs 8 inches away followed closely by the chariot and the Ungors.

M2

The infernal guard march forward making an easy charge for the ungors and the minos but moving into a difficut arc for the chariot. The Kahn makes his LD march test and moves out of the arch of the gors and chariot 2 but well within range for the magic phase. The remaining BC rallies and reforms to face the hated ungors.

The kahn unleashes a giant wad of fire at the minos killing one and putting 2 wounds on another. The deathshreikers miss wildly scattering 8 and 10in (must remember to melt these scatter dice down into somthing useful).

O3

The badly wounded minos decide to shoot for my IG block and charge. The ungor block finds out they mist defeat the lone Bull Centaur in order to get at the IG blocks flank so they get to work and charge him. Chariot #1 decides to turn and face one of the deathsreikers aiming to destroy the worthless warmarchine (Hasut claim the manufacturer he must of been planning to kill me and steal my slaves) Over on the right flank the Gor herd and chariot 2 swing into a good arc on the IG.

No spells cast as nothing is in range of his shaman (level 1 withounly bestial surge). His ungors fail their ld and are scard of the 1 BC and fail their primal fury. They land no wounds on the BC who kills 3 with his 2 attacks and stomp. He looses the combat by one but rolls a 3 on his LD and hangs in place holding up the ungors and planning to drive them before Hasut. The minos landed 3 wounds I saved 2 and killed another mino and left 1 with 1 wound. I tried to persue the remaining mino to be able to move into a more advantageious position but it was not to be. I moved 2 inches.

M3

I reposition the IG so that if they do get charged its on the flanks rather than a front/rear combo. The Kahn moved to redirect Chariot 2 and hurl some fire balls at the gor unit. The IRF roll of the ruby ring planted 11 falls of fire on the gor unit killing 4 of them. Death shreiker 1 shot at the charriot barreling down on it firing the poorly alinged rockit into the air allowing it to look like so many fireworks. Finaly, finaly rockit number 2 hits the remaining mino causing 1 wound…At least it finaly did…somthing?

The ungors once again afraid of the lone BC they would be rerolling their misses this time. They score 2 unsaved wounds with the bull Centaur responding in kind killing 2 ungors. He once again holds fast. Hasuts blessing upon the mighty Bull Centaur.

O4

Chariot 1 charges the deathshreiker, Gor unit charges the flank of the Infernal Guard and my General makes way. Chariot 2 charges the Kahn who flees well out of range.

The Ungors finaly kill the last BC. The Gors wiff in close combat. As a response the sons of Hasut kill 5 Gors and win the combat. The Gors flee 6 and the infernal guard roll boxcars to persue catching the general and the majority of the points. Chariot 1 Slams into the deathsreiker obliterating her crew and running into the other rockit.

M4

Uneventful. Reform THe IG to take the ungors in the face. The Kahn fails to activate his ring and the las Deathshreiker fires at Chariot 2 with a miss.

O5

Chariot 2 and ungors charged the 20ish IG. Charoit 1 charges the last Deathsreiker. The ungors hit first covering the majority of my frontage and the chariot hits touching 1 CD. 3 IG die to impact hits, and 2 to chariot crew. The ungors wound once but it is saved. 3 Dark Castilian attacks and 9 GW attacks obliterate 8 ungors. I win the combat and catch the ungors the fleeing chariot does not move far but it was enough to keep it on the board. Charoit 1 kills the 2nd Deathshreiker rocket.

M5

The IG sit down in the center of the table and have a snack. The Kahn persues Chariot 2 off the table.

O6

The ungor skirimishers hide in some trees and the last mino draws closer to the board edge. Chariot 1 thinks it might be served to follow its brothers home.

M6

Hasut hornors the lads with victory! Victory and Slaves!

I think I will make a unit of slaves. I think each time I get a victory Ill hunt down a mini from each type of unit I kill and then toss them all into a single unit! Like from this match I need to find 1 Ungor, 1 Gor and 1 Mino! More slaves for mines!! Thanks to and glory to Hasut!!
