Grimstonefire:

@Khan

The base model is the same cast for all of them, just slightly converted to have 4 basic variations. The command being made a lot more different.

I sculpted the whole model I cast from scratch, but there are some plastic bits here and there, shields etc, and a lot on the command models.

If I had designed the cloak and beard a bit better, my mould would have been stronger and I could have made a lot more.

AGPO:

Awesome work - the mask sculpting and the paint jobs are very nice!

I could never work on so many thing at the same time. If I start painting one unit, I have to finish it. Otherwise I'd be surrounded by half-painted things - a nightmare!!

Ishkur Cinderhat
Hey! When did you get a look at my painting desk? I don't remember seeing you there!

Willmark
Mine is like that too, the worst bit is when your trying to get an army done, look back at an old fully painted unit and go "I could have done better than that!" Re-painting promptly begins

hal:

Nice to see them altogether grim. Your sketch work is great!

clam:

Nice to see you back Grim! - And it has been worth waiting - What an awesome job!

As allways very inspiring! Can’t wait to see that the final BB unit - sounds/looks very interesting!

ashur:

I just love them. Specially the first warrior to the right in the first regiment. Love the mustache and the evil look you give him.

That brotherood of Hashut is great and fit nicely in your fluff.

Did you make them all unique?

What are your next projects for your army?

Kera foehunter:

So grims are you making a cool hellcanon??

i see it not finshed

AGPO:

We need to see that hellcannon finished Grim!

Grimstonefire:

I want to finish the 20 warriors first, then the 20 Brotherhood, then at least 10 blunderbussers, then the sorcerer, then the hellcannon.

This being mixed with finishing off my Dwarf Rangers, Miners and Hammerers (heavily converted).

By the time all the CD above are done I will hopefully have finished sculpting the Black Orcs.

Its annoying with CD really, you have the trade off; extra time sculpting or finish them quicker :frowning:

@Ashur

Depending on any rumours related to cD at the time, once I’ve finished the list above I will look to extend with:

15-20 slaves (to finish my GH#4 unit)

20 Immortals

15 Berserkers

2 Bolt Throwers

If it looks like we are definately going for mid-late 2009 and there are strong rumours/ pics of what is coming, I might be tempted to pick only a couple of projects.

Certain things will definately be added regardless of anything:

CD Lord on Great Taurus (the new juggernaut)

Kollossus (home rules or terrain piece).Already started this one.

AGPO:

Grimstonefire
Sculpting!?!?!? Does this mean we are to expect original Grim Black Orcs?

Grimstonefire
Be a shame not to see these guys finished though...

Xander:

He has sculpted scale mail armour onto them. He posted one a while back.

Grimstonefire:

@AGPO

Check the first post in this thread

I will be finishing the stuff on my list at the atart of this thread, plus a few small projects listed above.

After this I will reassess how strong the rumours are. If it genuinly is looking like late 2009 I will probably stop there and wait.

I always have so many projects on the go at any one time its hard to get things done. So time is all important.

I want to ‘finish’ my Dwarf army, which I will start a new thread for at some point, that is heavily converted as well.

Xander:

I can’t wait for that thread.

Sounds very, very nice - I'm looking forward to see them especially the Berserkes, the Immotals and the mounted Lord - though I have hoped you would have said, that you'll finish of that Iron Bull-project of yours - but with that new juggernaut - I can see why thats not gonna happen:)
Kollossus (home rules or terrain piece).Already started this one.

Grimstonefire
Would you reveal your ideas and show us some pics - please:)?

Kera foehunter:

well good luck painting grims .that is a great army you have.

100% cool

Grimstonefire
We are all building our armies so that we can eventually have a lord on Taurus, don't we ;)

Grimstonefire:

@Clam

I found this piece of art, and am attempting to copy it.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/Grimstonefire2/Chaos%20Dwarfs/Image4.jpg I think its about the same scale in that pic.

So far I’ve made most of the middle section. I plan to make one leg and cast it 4 times in resin, I’ve nearly finished one leg. This is a very long term project.

I thought it was time for a general update here. Its a real shame I can’t put these pics up as finished (as I was hoping to do), but the next update will hopefully see most of this list painted.

Sorcerer

Started a new conversion (as opposed to my green) based on a Hammerer standard bearer. Need to do his cloak, but otherwise he’s finished.

See here for a description of it.

Hellcannon

I’ve repainted this, going for a colour transition purple-white on the barrell. Not much more done yet.

Black Orcs

I’m slowly working on these. I’ve converted about 10, including a Boss with a Dwarf beard cloak. I’ve repainted the weapon blades red (to tie into the Brotherhood better).

Ishkur Cinderhat:

Wow, the Brotherhood of Hashut looks awesome! Will these pose as Immortals in your army? Sorry for the stupid question if you mentioned it already somewhere else…

Grimstonefire:

No, I will do some new models for them.

I had a dream the other night about how I wanted them to look. I’ve got a concept model (#5), and hopefully this time I can modify it to be close to what I imagine.

Khan!:

I wish my inspiration came to me in dreams! It’s great to see some more work done on these. Any clues as to what these dream-immortals will look like?

clam:

So much great stuff here GFS :hat off :hat off :hat off

Can’t hardly wait to see that Kollossus.

The Blunderbusses looks promising and the Soul Reaper really takes form now.

And that Brotherhood unit is … just absolutely brilliant - you are truely a great, great sculptor - one of a kind - just love you work man!

Keep up the good work - and keep us posted.

:Cheers
