Going to a doubles tournament - random partner so don’t know what Im pairing up with. Decided that this year I am going to build a list to support my partner rather than 2 separate armies trying to harmonise. Don’t know which list I prefer.
20x Infernal Guard - Standard and Musician, reroll 1st failed ld banner - 265
Hellcannon - 210
Total: 970 - gives me 30ponts to play with and the plan is to fly around and spirit leach and hellcannon stuff off the table, the block with hold a flank or tarpit anything nasty whilst mmy partner does his thang.
Don’t know if I have the models for 80 hobs though. Would like to take Hobgoblins for the shooting but not sure how to do it points wise - Unit of 20 with bows standard and muso (122) but then how do I get to the 250 core points minimum - 10 x infernal guard - will they do anything at all?
I’ve played quite alot of supportlists. If you share the magic-dice you could leave them to your partner and go full artillery-support. In similar games this has been a huge success when I’ve been playing allies.
2 Smiths, one with chalice, metal signature on both. 2 Magmacannons and 2 Deathshriekers, thats 730 points. For core I’d go fireglaives.
@ Lodrial: I have pretty much everything in the list save the iron dameon/skullcracker but it is the number of which I have. I do have a million odd goblins that I could use but for my themed army I only have 40 hobs.
@ Madhatter: The dice are split right down the middle so I still get dice even if I don’t take casters. I get what you are saying about going artillery for support but then If they don’t have any casters, we could be in trouble. I literally don’t know who my partners will be - completely random and they change each game. Also only 2 warmachines allowed in your list.
The lamasu does look like fun and at 1k could be quite effective. just not sure whether putting 2 casters together is wise. It does mean I could miscast with either and take them both out. If I then roll a misfire on the hellcannon, I could literally lose my wizard, mount and monster all in one go.
