Spawn:
Alright so my first list to ask your opinion on is the following:
Sorc lord- Spell fam, Tzeentch, lvl 4, Conjoined Hamonculus- 325
Sorc- Scroll x2- 115
Warriors x19- Shields, FC, MoS- 339
Warriors x19- Shields, FC- 334
MArauders x20- MoS- 85
Marauders x20- MoS- 85
Marauders x20- MoS- 85
Chosen x20- Nurgle, GW, FC, Favor- 485
Trolls x3- 135
Warshrine x2- 260
The basic tactic for this army is to get the infernal gateway with the sorc lord and hopefully (at least) poof one enemy unit on the table, and then the chosen and the warriors move in to mop up.
The unit of trolls shields the chosen as they advance, making sure to stay within the leadership bubble of the Sorc lord. They will take all the missile hits they can, hoping to gain 1-2 rolls on the EotG table a turn, making them a mighty foe indeed. For the first turn or two the warshrines will bless the trolls, granting them extra bonuses. After the trolls have either been wiped out or moved aside to allow the chosen into combat, the shrines will bless either the chosen or the warriors, depending on who needs it more.
The three units of marauders will advance in front of the warriors and besdie the trolls, basically acting as a very large meat shield. ideally, just as my army is getting within charge range the marauders should all be dead/fleeing. Hopefully right through the warrior units. I can count on my Ld 8 re-rollable panic on the unmarked warriors and chosen to allow me to charge in with all of my important units.
Now for list 2:
Lord- Rune sword, Rune shield- 310
Sorc- Scroll x2, Nurgle- 135
Warriors x19- Shields, FC- 354
Marauders x15- MoS- 61
Marauders x15- MoS- 61
Marauders x20- LA, FC, Shields, MoS- 145
Hounds x5- 30
Chosen x14- Nurgle, Shields, FC, Favor- 351
Trolls x4- 180
Trolls x4- 180
Trolls x4- 180
Warshrine x2- 260
This list has a few more options than the other list, and a better CC character. This is the list me and a couple of friends came up with after pondering for a little while (well pretty close)
Once again the trolls advance in front of the whole army, doing thier best to keep at least one model in range of the general for his oh so important LD9.
The hounds plop down in the very corner of the table and are forgotten. (contest/claim quadrant)
The marauders shield the chosen/Warriors right behind the trolls, acting as a second line of defense.
And the rest is pretty much straight forwards
