So I got the Games Day special Modell 2 weeks ago and my first 30 Chaos Dwarfs from Forgeworld yesterday.
So for the beginning I have:
20 Infernal Guard with Handweapon and Shield
10 Infernal Guard with Fireglaives
1 Daemonsmith Hellsmith
I started priming them and glueing them together, furthermore I got my Daemonsmith Hellsmith finished but I don’t have a camera around right now. Will deliverer asap
So after todays painting session I finished all Bronze parts on the Body (drybrushed hashut copper, drybursehd a bit less with golden griffon and washed 2x with agrax earthshase). I will hilight it with runefang steel. I also have done the silver parts (Leadbelcher and washed with Nuln Oil). They are still awaiting a little bit of drybrushing with runefang steel.
Now Pictures:
I also removed all the painted of the Hellcanon Crew.
So Ive been working on my Infernalguard since my last entry and I finished the guards themself, the arms, the weapons and the shields.
Furthermore I glued the shields with the left arm onto the bodies. Here are the results:
I did the weapons as followed:
Shaft:
1. Leadbelcher
2. Washed with Nuln Oil
3. Drybrushed with Runfangsteel
Middle Part:
1. Warplock Bronze
Blades:
1. Auric Amor Gold
2. Drybrushed with Hashut Copper
3. Drybrushed the edge with Golden Griffon
4. Washed 2x with Seraphim Sepia
5. Slightly washed with Agrax Earthshade
Furthermore I removed the paint from the crew of the hellcanon.
Todo:
glueing on the weapons and fixing the uncoverd areas on the shields and the weapons (from cutting them out).
Now to the shields I saw this, on the German “Tabletopwelt” Forum and thought about doing the same on my shields just in red. What do you think about it?
The golden weapon heads looks great. I reminds me of allmsot molten metal and is a bit lavaish. That my friend is great. Some heavy weathering along the edges of the weapon would do them well. Like soot or oil.
The red rune is a good way to add some detail to a boring shield. For runes like this I use very thin magic markers. Either a thin black to make a clean edge around the red rune or a very thin red marker to paint it. Much sharper result.
First of all thank you for the nice words and the critic
The runes on the shields look a bit sloppy.
Herby
Did the best I can I like them
And the constantly recurring problem with unclean base edges.
Paint the base edges properly and the overall result will look way better.

What excatly do you mena by that?
So all in all well done. :hat off

Thank you :cheers

Thank you :cheers , but I think ill keep the weapons as they are because I really like them the way they are now

Ill try the black outline thing and see how itll work out
Nice look on the unit. Freehand runes are difficult to do. Whether or not you use a black outline you might also want to test a “glow effect” around the rune. How about yellow-orange runes with red glow seemingly fading out around them? If you want a contrast colour to the metal and red you might even want to test out blue-glowing runes.
You might also want to scrape off excess sand on the base sides and then repaint them with a smooth layer.

Well orignally that was my intention (was using Astrogranite) but maybe you're right and I should just use some dawnstone.
On the weapons:
I did the Heads like:
Based with Auric Armour then heavily drybrushed with Hashut Copper, Washed with Seraphim Sepia twice and wasehd with Agrax Earthshade
