Hello,

I’m one click away from ordering my army of CD’s.

Please help me by sorting out a list out of the one that I will post here. It’s lacking around 50 points as it is, but I am sure there is a lot to change anyhow.

But it’s a start. Also, please give me advice as i am fairly unsure what everything is capable of.

Sorcerer-Prophet: General, Lvl 4, Hashut, Blackshard Armour, Darkforge Weapon, Enchanted Shield, Earthing Rod, Talisman of Protection,

Ironcurse Icon 350

Daemonsmith Sorcerer: lvl2, Fire, Blackshard Armour, Enscrolled hand

weapon, Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Protection, Dragonhelm, 180

Dark Castellan: BSB, Pistol, Blackshard Armour, Shield, The Mask of

the Furnace, Biting Blade, 212

23 Chaos Dwarf Inferal Guard: Standard, Musician, Hailshot

Blunderbuss, Standard of Discipline, 449

10 Chaos Dwarf Inferal Guard: Musician, Fireglaives, 180

3 Bull Centaurs Renders: FCG, Great Weapons, Heavy Armour, Shields, 190

1 Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher: Hellbound, 125

1 Magma Cannon: Hellbound, 170

1 Hellcannon: 205

1 K’daai Destroyer: 325

Total: 2354

My opinion:

you cannot get talisman of protection twice.

your prophet needs a 4+ ward (talisman of preservation)

i would replace the fireglaives with 2x20 hobbos with bows, to deal with redirectors and warmachine hunters.

i see no need for the pistol on the castellan unless its part of your fluff or something. the standard of disciple seems unnecessary considering your general has ld 10 (i assume that he will be in the blunderbusses unit as the fireglaives are too few), maybe switch it with lichebone pennant?

you have no redirectors yourself, i would suggest adding 3 khans on wolves for that.

hope i helped

This is an illegal build.

You have talisman of protection twice. You can only ever have one of each magic item in any army.

god45:

I’m sorry about the illegal items. This isn’t really that I’m a newbie to CD’s but to WHFB as well.

Do you think the hobgoblins are an absolute must?

A few Khans riding on wolves wouldn’t do?

I see many lists with just infernal guard, but are they inherently flawed or is there some other trick to it?

You meant Talisman of Preservation right (4+ Ward Save)? If yes its a solid build.
Daemonsmith Sorcerer: lvl2, Fire, Blackshard Armour, Enscrolled hand weapon, Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Protection, Dragonhelm, 180
I’d recommend a Charmed Shield on him, since he’s likely to take a cannonball to his face.

Dark Castellan: BSB, Pistol, Blackshard Armour, Shield, The Mask of

the Furnace, Biting Blade, 212
23 Chaos Dwarf Inferal Guard: Standard, Musician, Hailshot

Blunderbuss, Standard of Discipline, 449

10 Chaos Dwarf Inferal Guard: Musician, Fireglaives, 180

3 Bull Centaurs Renders: FCG, Great Weapons, Heavy Armour, Shields, 190
This will depend on your strategy. It seems a bit weak for an anvil and apart from the K’Daai you have no hammer.

the thing is, infernal guard with ranged weapons are too expensive for what they do.

in both fireglaives and blunderbusses you need numbers to have decent results and the ranges of the weapons do not help either.

to give you a comparison:

40 hobbos with bows cost roughly the same points with 11-12 fireglaives.

that is 40 s3 24'' range shots against 11-12 s4 shots but with range 18''. the hobbos will fire more shots for more turns thatnks to their larger range. and quantity in most cases wins over quality...

i do not compare them with blunderbusses though, in 20+ units that thing hurts as hell even if it fires once or twice.
