Hello all. I’ve been a long time reader and fan of this site, here is my first post. Thanks to everyone for all the great ideas and for keeping the Flame of hashut burning bright! This list is not very similar to ones I’ve seen; which is fine. It was largely pointed out around my existing models of 40+ Blunderbusses, 40+Sneaky Gits and Lord on a Taurus. Have won about 75% of my games with it, playing mostly against Ogres, Lizardmen, Dark Elves and Khemri.

Lord-Sorceror-Prophet. Lvl 4, Lore of Hashut, Black Hammer of Hashut, Mask of the Furnace, Blood of Hashut. Great Taurus. 565pts
Hero-Daemonsmith Sorceror, Lv 1, Lore of Metal, Dispel Scroll, Enchanted Shield. 125pts

Rather than the Mask, I’d suggest Dragonhelm and the Talisman of Preservation. That way you keep the same armour and ward save, for ten less points. The only thing the Mask nets you is fear, and the Taurus already has Terror.
I wouldn’t use the Banner of Slavery, since hobgoblins will already ignore animosity within six inches of a Chaos Dwarf or Bull Centaur unit.
Those two changes net you about 45 points, which I would toss into the hobgoblins (add a standard and musician and a few more hobs to soak up casualties) I’d even drop three wolfriders, just to try to crank the numbers of your hobgoblin unit up to forty. In my experience, less than forty tends to evaporate a little too quickly.
List looks like a lot of fun, how have you found the Taurus Prophet in your games so far?

Thanks. Didn’t realize I could get the same effect only cheaper. The reason I even took the wolf riders in the first place, other than them being cool models, because theyre hardly good enough to warrant a Rare slot, is because in this tournament, I needed another unit of 5+ models with command, to be able to hold an objective. The Sorcerer has been more hit than miss-he’s definitely a Sorcerer who can fight a little, rather than a Fighter who can cast …though I have killed an Ogre Tyrant and a Saurus Lord on a Carnosaur after having cast Ash Storm on them. I had a Tomb King army unload a bazillion arrows into him and blow the Taurus mount out from under me on turn 1-not fun. He’s mostly on the Taurus to give me a little more mobility, As Lore of Hashut is pretty short range on many of its spell effects. The Banner of Slavery,other than being “Chaos Dwarfy”, has let them charge Fear and Terror causing units with no problem. They actually hold up most units for at least 2 turns, even winning a round of hth once in a blue moon, and giving me much needed time and space to maneuver. I like the idea of more of them, certainly, thanks for your suggestions. I’ll be modifying and changng around this army over the summer, hoping to get 3 or 4 different lists, though we’re still mostly an evil gunline, due to our restrictions…

Well, Saturday the 23rd we had a local tournament in preparationfor the Buckeye Battles and I played this list. Had a minor loss to a Dwarf gunline(and I mean gunline-he had an Anvil of Doom, 3 Grudgethrowers, 2 organ guns, 2 cannons and a flame cannon, with 3 dispel runes to boot) and a massacre against a pretty balanced Empire army and another massacre against a Dark elf army. Not a bad showing, but I still want to get as many hobgoblins as possible so I can run a list with ahout 120 of them, and a big unit of Infernal Ironsworn, some war machines and no Destoyer.

Good stuff and congrats on your victories. Dwarfs are tough nuts to crack and when you throw in an Anvil of Doom it essentially comes down chance is many regards.
Any chance of battle reports?

There is at least one more chaos Dwarf player there too. really looking forward to this…also, cant wait to start using some different lists, especially without the Destroyer. I really appreciate all the info and help on this site from all of you people. Its been a huge help for me.

How did your 600 point bale taurus do? Mine was shot up twice and was only useful against my last game vs vampire counts in a tournament I just finished. I will never bring it to a tournament again. Looks like he was very underwhelming for you too. I am considering bringing a skullcracker and plowing it into a flank, just pray I don't fight ogres!
