Basically, I’m making an army that will merge with my 2500 point WoC army for a 5000 point battle. These are the items I’ve already used in my WoC army: Enchanted Shield, Charmed Shield, Talisman of Pres, Sword of Striking and Banner of Eternal Flame. I also already have a BSB in my WoC list as well. Without further ado, here is the list.
Lords - 385 points Sorcerer-Prophet: Level 4 Lore of Metal Chalice of Blood and Darkness Talisman of Preservation (385 points)
Heroes - 587 points Daemonsmith Sorcerer: Dispel Scroll Ruby Ring of Ruin Lore of Death (145 points)
Infernal Castellan: Shield The Mask of the Furnace Luckstone (177 points)
So you over costed your Hobgoblins with bows by 20 points. They’re actually 104. With those new found points, throw bows on each of your wolf raider units.
Hard to know what else to say without knowing the WoC list. But on its own this is a solid list.
I was thinking about rolling with 2 Destroyers since I haven’t used up my Rare points for both my WoC army and this one, but I think that’d be a bit too cruel against my opponent, who is less competitive than me anyway. My main worry with the build is that I haven’t got enough upgrades on my Bull Centaurs and Taur’ruk. I might drop one Hobgoblin Khan for this.
The army I’ll be going up against will mainly be Empire, but with elements borrowed from other people to make 5000 points, which is mainly Lizardmen, Dwarves and Wood Elves.
If anyone has any problem with me posting up my list from another website, then just tell me and I’ll take it off.
You have 1000ish points on characters and that’s a lot. I’d ditch some of them coughSorcerer-Prophetcough and use those points to upgrade your Taur’ruk and bring some more bodies to the table.
I was actually thinking about that. I’ve already got a Level 4 caster (technically lvl 3 with Chaos Familiar) in my WoC army and I’m not sure whether another one will be necessary. I do like the Lore of Metal though and the Lore of Nurgle and Metal combined means that I’ll fair pretty well in combat. I think I’ll wait for more opinions before I make any final decisions on this.
I’ve decided to drop one Hobgoblin Khan. I need the points for more upgrades on my Tau’rak. If the Prophet goes though, he’ll certainly be coming back.
I’ve also decided to drop the Talisman of Preservation from my 1+/3++ BSB with 1 rerolls for the Armour of Destiny. I think I can afford to downgrade his Armour Save to 2+. This means the Prophet gets the Talisman of Preservation for now. This means this army now has to be 2495 points.
Just a quick something. I intend to keep my WoC very much the same as I have bought and assembled all the models in that one, and want to avoid over complication. Keep the suggestions rolling in guys.
I suggest dropping the daemonsmith. If you want to drop a wizard, losing your dsmith won’t be a big deal. Taking lore of metal with your Sorceror will allow him to sit with your warmachines while buffing the units/de-buffing the units in combat.
You can then buy a 2nd unit of 3 Bull Centaurs with shields and musician. This will give you flexibility in your deployment too. Don’t like the matchups across the table from your first BC unit? Throw your Taur’ruk in the second!
I’ve pretty much changed up the whole build. I did end up dropping the Sorcerer-Prophet in the end. Thanks both of you for the advice. I’ll post up my list soon on a new thread together with my WoC army just because I’ve changed it alot.
