So it looks like I will be the TO for the next event in september and people are hungry for a change. They like the 3k point value, so we’re gonna stick with that. And I want to try allied forces. Sorta like storm of magic you will get 500 points of another army. 25% has to be Core and otherwise no restrictions. Points can not overlap tho, like you cant borrow 10 points for the allies, or give 10 to the main army.
Second, Im going to use a Win/Loss/Tie type scoring system using Battle points, and Victory Points to determine ties. 5 points for a win 3 for a tie 2 for a loss. I kinda hate that you can run away with a tournament first game using the 20-0 or VP system so Im hoping this will make for a more tactical tournament that doesnt ever feel hopeless.
First senario will just be battle line.
Second senario is going to be watch tower, with 3 objective markers units can capture that give the unit the option of flaming attacks. I figure this will help make it more possible to purge the watch tower of units, and at the end of the game, each marker you have is worth 1 more Battle Point. Controling the watchtower will be worth 500-750 points im not sure which.
Third senario will be blood and glory. Breaking fortitude will be worth the 500-750 again as well as end the game. The secondary objective will be a runner, just a single model mv 6 ws 10 3 wounds str 4 toug 4 in 4 0 attacks ld 10 4+ws in cc 3+ everywhere else, goal is to get him off the other side of the board. 3 points if you get yours across, 2 if yours is alive and the enemy’s isnt, 1 if theyre both dead or alive.
Haha im way off topic ok. So what I want ideas on are the allied force! Im probably gonna run 2 magma’s horde of great weapon dwarves, big block of goblins, and either a k’daai or some bulls with a taruuk.
The front runners are Daemons, Dark elves, or warriors of chaos
Daemons
20 plaguebearers full command
Skull cannon
5 furies of Khorne.
Dark Elves
12 Crossbows w/ music
Cauldron of Blood
Hydra
Warriors of Chaos
18 Warriors mark of nurgle halberd music and standard
gorebeast chariot
I have access to high elves, wood elves, dark elves, dwarves, prolly get my hands on a few other options lol skys the limit almost. Hence why I love this idea
Grimbold Blackhammer:
I’d avoid the Dark Elves or at least that build of it. The Cauldron of Blood would only be able to effect two units and for that price, just get a second Hydra.
Daemons is both fluffy (if you care) and damn hard to shift. Perfect for holding objectives and watch tower scenarios.
adolrak:
Why would the cauldron only affect two units? pg51 of the DE rule book says ‘Pick a single friendly within 24" of the Cauldron even if engaged in close combat, to be affected by the chosen blessing’
+1 attack on great weapon dorfs would rock, 5+ ward save on my goblin tar pit also awesome, or an extra attack or killing blow on bull centaurs all seem quite useful.
I do agree with the daemons tho, they are winning in my head, both on the fluff, and watchtower and I freaking love the skull cannon. It lets me snipe my opponents cannons thus protecting my magma cannons and if gets shot at and doesnt get killed i can possibly heal it by charging into chaff or something. The furies im pretty meh about, but 5 str 5 attacks on fliers isn’t that bad.
Appreciate the feedback, keep it coming!
adolrak:
Lol not alot of ideas here
I was kinda hoping for even little stuff like ‘hey a unit of blank would have some neat synergy!’ or anything lol. I tried doing up 500 points of high elves and the neatest i could come up with was 5 silver helms with a champ and a standard, lion chariot and a frostheart. Not alot of synergy there but definately some punch to go with all the anvils CD have.

Gonna get in some test games using this system on the weekend. The list Im bringing looks like this:
Lord
Sorc Proph lvl 4 Hashut (boo hashut but im gonna give it another try) enchanted shield, talisman of pres, chalice
Heroes
Castellan BSB Black Hammer, Dawnstone, Dragonhelm, Ironcurse Icon
Daemonsmith lvl 1 metal prolly with charmed shield
Khan on Wolf
Khan on Wolf
Core
30 IG Full Command w/ g-weapon and banner of swiftness
45 Hob Gobs HW/SH standard and music
Special
Magma Cannon
Magma Cannon
6 Bull Centaurs Full Command Shields and Spears and War Banner
Rare
K’daai Destroyer
Allied Force - Daemons of Chaos
20 Plaguebearers Full Command
Skull Cannon of Khorne
5 Furies Mark of Khorne
First game will be the watchtower type one. I figure if I get the tower, plaguebearers go in and uhh we’ll try and deal with things business as usual. Furies, Centaurs, and K’daai are all fast moving and should help me gather up the objective markers quick fast and in a hurry, tho Im sure furies inability to flee will give me some grief. If I dont take the tower, I wanna blast at it with magma cannons first turn, then focus on getting the markers, ignore the tower until turn 3 trying to soften up other targets and keep my IG as healthy as possible until its time to clear out the tower.
Im hoping hashut’s ash storm will make those flaming tokens very potent as well as hatred on plaguebearers sounds pretty fun.

I played an empire player with skaven support, he took a lightning cannon, HPA, 20 clanrats and a mortar for his support. Main army was a big block of greatswords, another of halberds, some inner circle knights, hurricanum, the special metal wizard and two cannons.
I tabled my opponent. Ash storm plus the flaming cannon didnt turn out as awesome as i wanted, rolling 1 wound on the HPA, doubling to a whopping 2, but the kdaai in a horde of halberdiers was dire for my opponent indeed and he was too scared to bring his greatswords into the flank.
The Furies were freaking amazing, killing the lightning cannon, the hurricanum and running his wizard off the table.
The goblins were a bit small I felt, they took 2 final transformations and were rendered pretty much useless but better them than my IG so they did something useful.
The bull centaurs cleaned the inner circle knight’s clocks only to get rear charged by the HPA and get violated… str 3 str 6 hits no armor save d6 wounds was not polite. Tho I did forget that I was steadfast im not sure it would have mattered.
The senario tokens really never came up tho, so hard to say if they were helpful in clearing the watchtower. Killing 20 skaven in the tower is alot easier than killing 20 nurgle warriors tho lol.

Trounced or soundly thrashed maybe, but I'm really not sure the term violated should be used... I'd rather not think in that direction at all
