Time of Madness:

Just completed my 2500pt Savage Orc army this month. It consists of the following models

- Savage Orc Warboss on foot

- Savage Orc Warboss/Great Shaman on Wyvern

- Savage Orc Shaman on foot

- Savage Orc BSB on foot

- 37 Savage Orc big un’s with spears, full command and big stabba

- 24 Savage Orcs with extra hand weapons and command

- 24 Savage Orcs with extra hand weapons and command

- 10 Savage Orc boar boyz with spears/shields and command

- 3 Orc Chariots (with some savage Orc crew)

Total of 102 models.

Test models for the army.





Once the mounted test models were done I moved on to some infantry test models.



Completed my BSB



Full unit of 24 savage orcs with command and extra hand weapons.



First of 3 chariots



Small portion completed



Completed second unit of 24 savage orcs



Started converting and painting my large unit of 40 big un’s with spears. The spear conversion were not fun at all!



Finished 10 Boar riders with command



And 40 orc big un’s. If you look close you can see my bsb, general and shaman



Here’s the 3 foot characters



Completed 2000pt army minus a chariot crew



Savage Orc Warboss (or shaman) on wyvern



And my army board for easy transport during tournies!

Great looking force man! Super nice work. Has does it fare on the table?

Plays better than I expected actually. The unit of 40 big un’s is absolutely mean! If I can get the “here we go” spell off for the re-roll misses it becomes a nightmare for most opponents.

Early failed animosity tests can really cripple the army though.

Excellent. Made me realise I have never really taken any photos of my Savage Orc army. Always funny to see people’s faces when they are expecting giant hordes of O&G then seen how small a purely savage army is.

Sweet army, ToM! Really nicely painted. Those big blocks make it look like a real force, too. It’s a bit impressive to see almost only metal Savage Orc models in there.

You said it’s complete, but still, if you were to expand it further would you then add some plastic Savage Orcs? Or would they differ too much aesthetically? Just curious, because I like both old and new Savage Orcs but haven’t compared them. :slight_smile:

No expansions or additions. I got pretty sick of painting green haha. In all honest I almost didn't complete the project because of the weapon swaps (spear armed big un's). It took a long time to convert and paint that unit.

I'll move on to a different army :) Stay tuned...
