[Archive] 2600 point End times list

Some background first to this list.

The tournament is a one day 2600 point list with 2 hours allocated per game. My experience of the end times magic phase is that it slows things down compared to “normal” 8th edition magic phases.

My list therefore is intentionally defensive with the plan to castle up and using the destroyer to flank charge any charges on the blunderbuss unit where the lord will be. The BSB will hang with the fireglaives, level 2 sorcerer will hang with the deathshriekers to help with any misfires and the khan will try and keep order with the hobgoblins who will also rely on the lord’s leadership if the lads get a little rowdy.

I don’t really have anything to deal with Malkeith if he turns up roided up as the eternity king but other “big names” will get a couple of turns of rockets landing on them.

As my intent is not to charge, redirectors and chaff will largely be ignored and all efforts will be to shoot and magic from afar whilst keeping the destroyer in line due to his frenzy.

2 hours is pretty low for 2.6 k games. I hate being stressed by schedule.

back to topic:

The Armor of B. the cruel could be changed to a enchanted shield, thats a 2+ Armour save.

I prefer a earthing rod for the remaining points but you can also take a scepter or an energy stone.

If you change the talisman to endurance you could even take a chalice.

Would be curious to hear of your experiences!

Howdy,

I like your army quite a bit. I want to try out a big block of blunderbuss IG at some point, but I'm not sure I have enough dice when all 20 let loose :)

A couple of thoughts. You may want to put Naptha Bombs on you fireglaives deathmask. The unit will stand and shoot when the shortest range weapon can fire. The Naptha bombs are only 6" range, so the fireglaives will always be at short range during the stand and shoot charge reaction.

Also, just want to make sure you are deploying the blunderbuss 11 wide. In order for 20 blunderbuss to fire, a character can't be in the front rank if the unit is only 10 wide. Since you are hanging back and castling their hindered maneuverability shouldn't be as much of a problem.

PS Good on you that you passed up the temptation of running 2 Destroyers at 2600 points. This is how not to make friends at a tourney.

I do deploy 11 wide with the blunderbuss to get those benefits.

Good list, looks like something I would bring myself.

A line of 15 wide blunderbuss is devastating! So you’ll bring a lot of havoc for sure. 2 hours for 2600 points games is terrible short however. And End Times magic even makes the game slower.

Do you have all those dues painted Zanthrax? You should post an army shot and claim the 2000p silver medal!

I reckon I am close to 3500 points painted of big hats will have to claim my medal too lol.

In regard to my lords equipment I reckon his blunderbuss unit is going to be target by magic so I am keen to see how the passing on the magic res 2 to his unit from the arm of baz goes on the 1 feb at the tourney. Has anyone else used it before?

I really like the Bazherak and Preservation spec. Such an amazingly defensive Prophet begs for Blood of Hashut, just sayin’

Bazherak would give a Bale a 5+ ward against spells, think about it :slight_smile:

IMO you shouldn’t run hashut: you haven’t the ET spell. Lore of fire and lore of metal have both a great ET spell, metal is a good lore and fire helps you to spam little spells with the lore attribute + khaine magic rules
