[Archive] 2k list need input

sam585:

So I have been playing @ 2500 for the past year basically, and I am really new to doing 2k lists. So what do you guys think of this? Quick note we are using End Times Lords and Hero allowances, but not the new magic phase or special chracters such as KF, Nagash, Malekith, etc.

180- lvl2 daemonsmith with chalice

160- lvl2 Daemonsmith with dispel scroll and charmed shield, (General)

185- BSB castellen with talisman of preservation, enchanted shield, ironcurse

220- Taur’ruk with blackshard armour, dragonhelm, dawnstone, greatweapon

52- Hobgoblin Khan spear

503- 26 Blunderbuss

280- 5 Bullcentaurs with great weapons fcmd and gleaming pennent

210- hellcannon

210- hellcannon

Plan is basically put the hellcannons on each flank of the Blunderbuss, so we can all countercharge when necessary. The Bullcentaurs are going to be deployed at an angle and to give cover for a hellcannon. The khan is here solely for chaff.

Now additionally I am thinking of running double death on the daemonsmiths. Each one will be hiding behind a hellcannon.

So what do you 2k players think of this list? Will it perform?

MadHatter:

I’m not that big on Bullcentaurs anymore, I’d drop the Daemonsmiths from

the Hellcannons if not going for HC+MC+DS combo, would be lvl 1 then and just chalice/scroll/reroll carriers. Hellcannons should ideally shoot 1-2 shots and then get into combat.

I’d;

Drop the Daemonsmiths

Drop the Bullcentaurs and Tauruk

Get a lvl 4 on Baletaurus w. Fire or on carpet w. Hashut. Haven’t tried it yet but potential multiple casts Ashstorm breaks Endtimes. Multicast Burning Wrath or Dark Subjugation is just mean, and getting Loremaster of Hashut is pretty neat

sam585:

Issue is though that we are not using the new end times magic phase or rules, that part of the end times our community is completely ignoring like it never happened, unless they offically FaQ it.

Yeah, okay, still I say drop the BC's and Tauruk, use more Khans for chaff instead if needed. Drop the Daemonsmiths unlesd running 2 magmacannons aswell and get a lvl 4 Hashut or on Bale in there :)

dromar:

I think the core of the list is good but your spend too many points in characters IMHO.

You could drop the taur’uk: he is indeed resiliant but he cost 4 bull centaurs! better drop him for a unit of 8 BC.

I won’t drop the BC, they move fast and carry big CC potential + resiliance + standard in scénarios. They are definitly pivotal in a chaos dwarf army.

If you want to have a strong standard bearer, the better build is mask of the furnace and shield or HW:

3+/4++, fear and 2++ against flamming attacks, that’s just tough. You can also add iron curse icon.

I would play the demonsmith level 1 from fire or death, it would be enough.

With the point that you gain, play deathshrieker or magma canon:

1 deamonsmith would stay close to a hellcanon and DS/MC on each flanc.

Did some test games, at 2k and have made some new modifications, more feedback appreciated.

175- daemonsmith Stonemantle, Enchanted Shield, Lvl 2 metal

155- daemonsmith sorcerer dispell scroll, lvl2 fire

190- castellen BSB, Talisman of preservation, flame helm, greatweapon

134- 26 hobgoblins with bows

513- 28 Infernal Guard with Fireglaives, fcmd, nanptha bombs

310- train

100- rocket

210- hellcannon

210- hellcannon

total 1997

General idea:

Demonsmiths- will help deal with fast calv spam with many fireball and super heavily armored units with a powered up searing doom.

Castellen- the usual, designed to just stick around

hobgoblins- more shooting, additionally they will move up during the middle game to chaff a deathstar or something big and terrible

infernal guard- a versatile unit, can fight about as well as great weapon infernal guard can shoot down harassers and pick away at people

train- hellbound to take a cannon shot, will be used mainly for dealing with monsters, monsterous calv, and solo heroes.

rocket- another anti-monster, artillery shot, or can take care of glade guard and the all annoying fast calv spam from the eternity king list.

Hellcannons- one of my favorite units, taking two to guard the flanks and can charge when necessary, should blow units apart if they can land a hit.

dromar:

Better version IMHO.

But still, some points are wasted.

The stone mantle is just too expensive for what it does, just drop it.

Also i would suggest you not to spend too much point on daemonsmith, they have to saty rather cheap since they are fragiles. and if you play calice and dispell scroll, you will be strong enough in magic defense. No need of level 2.

Prefer to play lore of death: fatalitas is just game winner with 2 hellcannon, the primary is just awesome with LD9 and the other spells are too good. So i would recommand: daemonsmith with dispell scroll, enchanted shield, lore of death + daemonsmith with calice of blood and darkness, lore of death.

You castellan would be better equiped with mask of the furnace.

Hobgoblins are great cannon fodders, you should play them with shields and in great number. 20 infernal guards would be enough.

I would also play 2 wolfkhans to be sure to have more shooting phase and chase after warmachines.

Like:

-daemonsmith with calice

-daemonsmith with dispell scroll, enchanted shield

-Castellan with mask of furnace, BSB, heavy weapon

-2khans on wolf, light armour

-train

-deathshrieker

-40 hobgoblins, shields, bows, banner, musician

-20 fireglaives, banner, musician

-2 hellcannon
