AGPO:
This FAQ is unofficial and is based on the best understanding we have of how the Ravening Hordes list translates into 8th edition. We’ll try to keep it up to date, so please PM me or another staff member if you have a question which doesn’t appear here.
FAQs:
Q: What unit classification do bull centaurs come under?
A: Not sure, but atm infantry or cavalry seem the best bets
Q: Do bull centaurs get a stomp attack like other centaurs and monsterous cavalry?
A: Unless they (or ‘centaurs’ are specifically mentioned in the official FAQ, then no.)
Q: Do Hobgoblins count towards your 25% Core restrictions
A: No. The rules refer to your minimum number of core troops rather than core units. According to RAW, this means that they do not count towards your 25%, but do ount towards your minimum of three units. Had the wording been reversed, the answer would be the other way round.
Q: Do blunderbusses still fire in the same way?
A: They still project a firezone that is treated as a template, but you must still roll a 4+ to cause a hit. This is because this effects all troops covered by the template, and so isn’t the same as a partial hit roll, which have been removed from the rules.
Q: How many hobgoblin bolt throwers am I allowed to field?
A: Two bolt throwers count as a single special choice. You may field up to three of each type of special choice, and up to six in games of 3,000pts+. Therefore you can field up to six bolt throwers, or up to twelve in larger games.
Q: How do my Death Rocket and Earthshaker fire in the new rules?
A: Unless an exception is specifically stated in the Ravening hordes list (eg min and max ranges) these weapons operate according to the 8th ed rules for stone throwers.
Q: Can we use the common magic items from the new ?
A: Yes you can
Q: If I use my Wolf Riders as fas cavalry, can I claim supporting attacks?
A: As there is now nothing to say that fast cavalry don’t get rank bonuses, you can now use supporting attacks, and count as stubborn if you outrank the foe. This makes Wolf Riders very nasty indeed.
Q: If a Hobgoblin Hero or Bullcentaur Hero/Lord joins my wolf riders, are they still fast cavalry?
A: No. In both cases, adding a character who does not specifically count as fast cavalry makes your unit lose the rule. This is the opposite rule to skirmishers.

Q: What unit classification do bull centaurs come under?
A: Not sure, but at the moment infantry or cavalry seem the best bets
—> I believe there is a new category of Beasts, which include Centaurs, etc.
Grimstonefire:
We will need to consider whether ‘Beasts’ can use great weapons, as it would not make sense to put them in that category otherwise. I sense that they will make them cavalry.
The list above is obviously WIP based on AGPO’s current understanding of rumours/ rules. Basically we’re asking for people to pm the staff with issues they want raised with RH as points of clarification for an errata.
Keep it to RH only though.

Grimstonefire
why? Centigors use spears, and they are beasts...
Thommy H:
No, they’re cavalry. They even get the +1 save.

The beasts category applies to fighting animals such as Warhounds and the like, not intelligent beings such such as centigors and bull centaurs.

No, they're cavalry. They even get the +1 save.

really? that's in the 8th ed rulebook or the Beasts army book?
Baggronor:
really? that's in the 8th ed rulebook or the Beasts army book?
Beasts book. I imagine that will still stand in 8th, as its so recent.
mattbird:
in that case I would say Bull Centaurs count as cavalry, same as Centigors.
Gar Shadowfame:
most recent rules> less recent rules
I imagine that even BoCh will get lots changes in update that will follow 8th edition
AGPO:
My feeling is that there is no official ruling, but applying common sence makes them cavalry, with the same adaptations as centigors. However the FAQ I have posted so far are based purely on 8th ed and ravening hordes RAW
Grimstonefire:
Apparently in 8th if you are on a cavalry base you are cavalry unless explicitly stated otherwise (in which case you will be a ‘beast’). BC are definitely cavalry.
Canix:
8th ED is getting me fired up again ,my nephew has doubled the size of his dark elves from 2000pts to 4000pts and bought the collectors edition so the paintathon is on.I will try the counts as dwarves option although RH will get some friendly play.
I really like how the Rules are looking and will start posting batreps when we get stuck in.My brother in law may even get back into playing with his pre slotta Undead .Cool games ahead :hat
zraknir:
Earthshakers are going to be absolutely lethal. no guessing required, no partial hits with the 2d6 movement/shooting inhabition…ouch…mega ouch
AssurBahniZharr:
On GW Tilea, one of the moderators who happens to be a GW employee…wrote in a thread that he will post soon some FAQs for Dogs of War and Chaos Dwarfs.
Though i’ve not been able to understand if this is a prelude to an official move or a single man project (I doubt a GW employee has so much freedom but really don’t know) i’m very happy to announce he will make clear the Bull centaurs troop type as well their correct definition in 8th edition.
Hope to find more soon.
As I will have some news i’ll promptly post it ^^ Oh well…should oyu find it interesting , of course!
Dawi-Zharr!!! A la guerre!!!

Vermintide… not be excited, at least not too much … If I understood correctly I think that games workshop will provide a pdf that is equal to the previous… just changing some things and give some clarification on the PDF cause the new 8th edition
Grimstonefire:
I think we will need to see whether he is allowed to put a GW ‘official’ stamp on it or not. If he is not allowed to it will still be useful in seeing how someone else looks at any issues.
Please keep us updated.
Da Crusha:
you know if GW releases all of the faq’s and then they ignore CD’s, we should mass email them all together and we shouldnt stop until they answer us. if they recieve 100 emails from us everyday we’re bound to get a response. we can make a stand together representing CDO!
Fallen246:
They cpould still block our emails, but I’ll be sure to try

I'd recommend to send both an email and an actual letter. The effort wouldn't go unnoticed.
