[Archive] AllEvil's by-the-numbers Chaos Dwarf Army (Lots of Pics)

AllEvil:

This Army has been sitting at about 90% completion for a few months now, so I figured It’s in a state where I can start showing it off. The army is made entirely with techniques I learned from the website and from the Word of Hashut and Xander’s instructional videos.

As a preface, you should know that this is the first time I have ever used green stuff, and I wasn’t all that good with it. It goes to show that with a few easily learned techniques, that anyone can make a Chaos Dwarf army without having to spend big bucks (in fact, its a lot cheaper than a normal army).

On to the pictures (apologies if some a blurry)

This is the first warrior I ever made. I did this as I was watching Xander’s tutorial, trying to keep up. Ironically, It’s probably one of the best Ive done (having gotten considerably slacker over time).

And here is my nearly complete unit of them. You will notice that many at the back remain unconverted. My army general also is permanently affixed to this unit, you can see him on the right.

As a whole, they look fine. But they do look awful by comparison to my more recent attempts.

My General and his pet Sorcerer.

Sneaky Gits, as ripped from WOH (I think)

My Black Orcs. I love the simple paint scheme. It ties in really well with my bases.

The Black Orc Boss

Hellcannon/Earthshaker with WIP Crew

Ive always fancied the idea of the Great Taurus and the Bull Centaurs being the Greater and Lesser Demons of Hashut. With this in mind (and completely in awe of Ishkur’s Taurus) i set about creating these.

Taurus

This guy is truly immense (larger than a Dragon in terms of wingspan). Here is a Size Comparison against a normal warrior

And my Bull Centaurs. For these I used Centigors with Knights of Chaos bits to simulate Heavy Armour.

Hashut’s Demons all in one place.

WIP Death Rockets in the traditional method from BFSP cannons.

Unpainted Bolt Throwers

And my favourite miniature for last. This is my hobgoblin hero mounted on wolf. The pose of the miniature has so much character, its hard not to like him. Coupled with his hilarious history of dying or fleeing the board every game on the first turn, this guy just appeals to me.

And finally, some army shots.

You will see my unit of blunderbussers in that last shot. I’m going to redo the hats entirely (they are too tall), before I finish their painting.

Loki:

That is one good size army that you have got there AllEvil i really like the Taurus looks very cool, and you can never have hats that are to big :hat

Ubertechie:

Looks great - nice dark tones gives the army a menacing feel - it actually reminds me a fair bit of Loki’s.

Interesting mix of hats and helms and I have to agree that the Hobgoblin hero on a wolf is a great model

tjub:

Thats one evil looking Great Taurus! :o

AllEvil:

Thanks for your kind words guys.

Zanko:

Ahhhh … a really awesome army! :hat off

I like your Taurus paint scheme, it reminds me of my “Balrog-Taurus” … great!!! :cheers

The idea with the Centigor-Centaurs is also very cool - especially the crest is exceedingly and the paint scheme of them is remarkable!

In my opinion the CD should also be painted in this style (!)- the reason is that I´m not really a fan of the “ordinary” red colour scheme. :stuck_out_tongue:

The bases are also cool and stylish!

I want to see more …

:hashut

Kera foehunter:
