Grimstonefire:
Based on discussion in another thread of how the CD would treat traitors, I decided to make up a special character. He’s probably right at the extreme for traitors; a weapon and armour smith who’d make weapons for free that would kill everything (including other CD) and has turned his back on Hashut.
Ontop of that he’s really annoyed all the Chaos gods! So hated by them as well.
Some of the rules are specifically to do with my version of the list, but generally they’re open to generally accepted fluff.
I wanted him to be an anti-chaos hero level character. The points cost is probably about right. He may be a legendary weaponsmith, but he isn’t a great fighter. I was tempted to make him Hate Chaos Dwarfs as well, but that was taking it a bit too far!
Anyway, here we go:
AMLAL FORGEBREAKER: TRAITOR SMITH OF THE GODS
Who can say what it was that attracted Amlal to leave the safety of Zharr Naggrund and journey north. Some have speculated that the Chaos Gods whispered to him day and night until his mind was broken. Few would say that Hashut wanted it so.
Yet journey north he did, travelling for months across the tribal lands of the Kul and Dolgans. The barbarian warriors would normally slay any that would dare to cross their lands, but their tribal elders all agreed his coming was foretold in the stars, and that his coming was of great significance to all the chaos gods? So on Amlal marched. Never knowing where he was going, but always feeling like he was being guided towards some distant and dangerous place.
Finally he reached his destination, some secret place at the end of the world; there he would spend untold millennia learning the secrets of forging Daemon weapons and armour. For unbeknownst to Amlal, he had been summoned to complete the Circle of Wrath; the five Chaos Dwarf Smiths of the Gods. The four remaining Master Smiths were ancient beyond reckoning, having lived many times longer than they naturally should. A horrifying vision of mutated flesh and metal, the Master Smiths lived a life of constant work, a life of slavery, never stopping for rest or nourishment.
Hashut had clearly not forsaken Amlal if he had forsaken his god, for his destiny was far greater than he could possibly have imagined.
Having served for centuries chained to an anvil as an apprentice to the Master Smiths, the greater part of his nature eventually began to take control. Amlal began to despise the cruel Chaos gods, learning of their endless quest for slaughter and eternal dominance from the mutant creatures who supplied the raw metal. As time went by his thoughts grew to anger and eventually to rage. Why should he be enslaved for millennia to fashion weapons and armour for a mad apocalypse that would last for all eternity? Every hammer blow on the anvil drove his hatred of Chaos deeper into his soul.
With a bellow of rage he brought his forge hammers down upon the anvil he was chained to, smashing it asunder and breaking the Circle of Wrath forever. As he pushed open the doors to the daemonic forge he felt the full fury of the gods decent upon him. His body was twisted and corrupted, as he fell to the ground a suit of white hot Chaos Armour was bonded to his skin by his vengeful Masters. Its searing metal cracked and warped, an unimaginable torture. Yet for all their terrifying powers the Chaos gods had decided to spare the traitor.
Making his way back through the Chaos Wastes he found his journey took him to Karag Dum, one of the lost holds of the Dwarfs. With single mindedness borne out of wrath, he made his way deep into the hold and to one of the smaller forges. Using all the skills he had learnt under his cruel masters, he forged the two hammers that would bring order to chaos. The Dwarfs that occupied this hold in centuries past would have been abhorred that a monstrous abomination such as he would dare to use their forge.
Travelling across the Dark Lands and beyond he seeks out Chaos where he can, aiding his brethren when they help him in this mission, crushing them where they thwart him. Yet it seems he has not escaped the attention of the Chaos gods, for much to the anger of Amlal they persist in ?~blessing?T him in battle with their divine magic.

Stats: As Chaos Dwarf Hero
Weapons: The Hammer of Vengeance and Hammer of Judgement.
Armour: Chaos Armour (4+ Armour Save).
Special Rules:
Amlal Forgebreaker will take one Hero choice. He cannot be the army General. He must be fielded exactly as presented here, no extra equipment or magic items can be bought for him.
Will of the Gods:
Who can say what the motives are of the Gods. Perhaps by showing him favour they are testing the strength of their own followers, or helping him to destroy those of a rival God?
At the start of the battle roll D6 and consult the chart below. Amlal will benefit from the attentions of his patron God for the duration of the battle.
1 Nurgle +1 Toughness, +1 Armour Save
2 Slaanesh +2 Attacks
3 Khorne +1 Weapon Skill, +2 Strength
4 Tzeentch Magic Resistance (3)
5-6 Hashut 4+ Ward Save
Bane of Chaos
The warping effects of time that can happen within the Chaos Wastes mean that Amlal may have spent millennia brooding on his hatred of chaos in all its forms.
Hatred for Daemons of Chaos, Warriors of Chaos and Beasts of Chaos. Amlal will re-roll misses in close combat when attacking enemy Chaos Dwarf Hellcannon or Soul Reaper crews.
Abhorred
Amlal is hated and despised by all Chaos Dwarfs for his past allegiance to the gods of Chaos. Dawi Zharr generals only suffer his presence because of his prowess as a warrior, although keeping their own troops from executing him is often a battle in itself.
Enemy Chaos Dwarfs suffer Hatred towards Amlal Forgebreaker.
Hammer of Vengeance:
Forged to be the bane of Daemons, this legendary hammer is a mighty weapon of destruction, capable of sending even Greater Daemons back to the abyss.
Hand Weapon. Anything with the Daemonic special rule that has been wounded by Amlal and is beaten in combat must add D6 to their Daemonic Instability test rolls (taking the result to a maximum of 12).
Hammer of Judgement:
Amlal Forgebreaker can be counted amongst the greatest of living Chaos Dwarf Weaponsmiths, not that he would ever be acknowledged as such. So finely crafted is the Hammer of Judgement that paradoxically it is the very essence of anti-magic. Only those who are attuned to see the winds of magic can perceive the vortex of darkness swirling around this weapon.
Additional hand weapon. Wizards wounded by Amlal suffer -2 to their Armour Save.
