Since there are three entries this time around for Artisans we can run this as a timed poll. This poll will be open for 7 day timed poll.
I’d like to congratulate the entrants as the holiday contest is always a tough one as we all get caught up the festivities. So with that said I think congratulation on behalf of the forum are in order.
My vote goes to #1 (not my own) I can see a real chain there and it might even work!!! (but I must say I think entry 1 and 3 are a bit big and unpractical for on a gaming table)
tough choice as I was painting 70 hobgoblins I really couldnt enter but I choose entry number one, Was a tough one as I said but number one strikes me as the coolest and awesome concept I have ever saw as a terain peice for chaos dwarves, Number 3 would have been my second choice as I think its more chaos themed than the second entry which looks very vannila to me no disrespect to the maker it is a truely great paintjob and the terain peice is first class but their is something that grabs me about peice 1 and peice 3 where as peice 2 has been excecuted wonderfully it just needs something a little extra, A pile of skulls burning embers in something but I love each and everyones work great jobs all who had the time inclination to enter you are all bigger winners than I. :hat off
I'm afraid that my taste is not comparable to most of the other CDO members! ;)

Unfortunately not - to many youngsters here. To many members, who thinks that a chaos dwarf is a dwarf with a big hat and a curly beard -but we know differently ;)
The idea behind this terrain piece was to create an outpost in the “no-man’s-land”! A place to rest before and after a slave-raid! :cheers
And the Marauders/Frurndar are (in my feeling/fluff) not so engineered like the BigHats and that’s the reason why the outpost looks so improvised and “shabby”!
But all in all it was a great fun to built this terrain piece and imo for the 1st one it’s not too bad!

Btw: lovely entry -and you had my vote :D

Yes, a chaos dwarf also requires scale armour and a large nose. ;P
Weren't you at the briefing? The mini chaos warrior look is so 1985:hat off

@ BR: No unfortunately I wasn’t invited to this special briefing!
But what should I say … I am oldfashioned! :cheers
I love these old Chaos Warrior looking guys! I think the reason was that I bought my 1st CD 1986 (if I remember me correctly) and the slightly ridiculous
looking guys with the oversized hats came much later!
Even tought I’m not an old dwarf like you I can understand you. Still smile when I remember a battle during a tourney when my “big hats” were older than my opponent… lol!
Still torn about choosing my favourite entry:
1) Damn cool idea! I love the machinery and I second the twisted mind of the engineer that projected it. But I still think it’s too large to be used on a battle field and, more important, you continue to use too thin cardboard/plasticard sheet that do not give he idea of thickness a proper stone/bricks/whatever material you like- wall. If it is supposed to be metal I have to suggest you to use rivits. This could give the idea of metal sheets crudely bolt together.
2) From a technical point of view is the better executed. Stones are very nicely done, wood, metals and even a glass effect. The only problem is that does not scream Chaos Dwarfs to me. A bull like that could be hanging out of every Empire tavern called “the bull”. But from a modelling point of view is the best.
3) Again a little bit too large to be practical and little too “feral” dwarfs for my taste. Said this great modelling skills, I like the basing. Very realistic. I always tought Dwarfs would build only stone walls, not wooden, but I got your point. It’s consistent with you theme and I appreciate the most. I really like the gate to the “underworld”. Cool touch. But where have I already seen that hero? Mmmmmmh

Now I'm getting angry XDDDD ( lol ;) ) Why would us youngsters think a chaos dwarf needs a big hat? Personally I prefer helmets (and yes, I do use curly beards for my main force, but that's to distinguish them from the kin traitors :3 )
Why would a youngster buy a petard at a way to high price ( 40 euros :$ but it was NIB xD) if he thought that a CD needed a big hat? It's just a matter of taste wether you like the real old ones or not.
But I am just starting my collection of the old minis, so it will take a while before I will have them all ;3 ( and if you are wondering how young, 14 ;P )
well its pretty obvious who is going to win this, but the race for 2nd place is in (:
@Zanko I’ve seen your army blog and I must say that your pice of scenery goes very well with your army, witch of course is the most important.
I also tried to make something that complimented the theme of my army, I think that worked pretty well, but that also means a lot here will find it too no-chaos-esk. oh and the bull hanging from the door came from a bracelet with all the starsigns on it, no wonder it doesnt look very scary, I was just happy I got my hands on a bull.
As the discussion feral dwarfs or big had dwarfs, I like the big hats, but I just love most of the 3dr edition model range, and try to get as much of those in any army I build.
Sorry, Borador. Glad to hear that have you eyes on the real Chaos Dwarfs
Out of 1500 members, I thing less then a 100 do these old classics - and many of them are 30+. But glad to hear that the 2nd generation real Chaos Dwarfer has arrived.
