[Archive] Base Sizes by Unit

Khaas:

As some of you may know, I’m the Admin at the Chamber of the Everchosen forums (Warriors of Chaos), I’ve been doing some cleaning up and upgrading to our forums and have recently added a section for FAQs. One of the things I wanted was a thread detailing base sizes by unit, since it’s pretty common to have someone ask “what size base does Hellcannon come on?” or similar. I’m putting together lists for the other Chaos armies for that forum as well, and was wondering specifically about the artillery in the Chaos Dwarf army. I know they don’t come with bases, however I also know there are some tournaments that require bases. And having put together plenty of Chaos Dwarf minis from FW I know they won’t all fit on cavalry bases. So, I put it to you guys and gals: what is the consensus for basing the war machines such as Magma Cannon, and Dreadquaker Mortat as examples?

Thanks for your time folks. And once I’ve compiled my list I’ll post it here as well if you guys would like.

Bloodbeard:

Good initiative Khaas. Here’s a link to the CDO wiki with the (by Forge World) suggested base size.

I know ETC uses different sizes if people want bases for warmachines.

Skink:

They fit perfectly on chariot bases (50 x 100) :cheers

Khaas:

Hello everyone, and thanks again for the feedback. I’ve got the Warriors and Chaos Dwarf sections updated on our forums now. Knocking out Daemons next.

Here’s a link to the thread in question, but I may take a page from you guys and just create a wiki for our forums as well since the person who created our forums used something that’s a little more dysfunctional than I’d like.

Base Sizes by Unit - Chamber of the Everchosen

Bloodbeard:

Hi Khaas. Two things:

1. FW suggest a 60100 base for th iron demon and skullcracker. Not a 50100 like on deathshrrieker and magma cannon. No logic behind that one…

2. The k’daai destroyer goes on a 100*150.mIt’s not a concensus thing, it says so in the tamurkhan book under the k’daais entry.
