[Archive] Blast from the Past

Grimstonefire:

So I’m hoping there will be a few of you out there like me, who will see what I’m trying to achieve here.

I have models in boxes stretching back 20 years, some painted but probably 80% not. And it’s about time I did something about this!

Like many of you I imagine starting a new blog has guilt/ expectations attached if you don’t post.  So my thinking is we all post random models here and just share in the nostalgia

The idea of this is to post pictures of:

  • [] Any models
    [
    ] From any game system

There are only two rules.

1.  The models must be painted
2.  It must have been unpainted, or WIP for at least one year

TheHoodedMan:

Great idea! Hope that I can contribute some things.

Grimstonefire:

So my first model to contribute here will be the FW Verminlord!

I’m experimenting with the colours, and need to track down one arm…

Thoughts on basing? He’s going to go on a oval base

TheHoodedMan:

He has that pretty cool stone under him so I would like something like a sewer under that. So a kind of water effect would be cool.

Getting a missing arm could probe difficult though…

Haha, if I started something like this it would quickly dwarf my other blogs... oh no wait, rule #1... never mind ;)

Grimstonefire:

@hoodedman

Its not lost, I just don’t know where it is right now Y~?

My first contribution here takes me back a long way, to the days of high adventure when you knew how dangerous a dwarf was by the size of his mohawk! Also a call out to my old slayer pal Kera

A real classic this one, and one of the saddest dwarfs ever sculpted.

I need to come back and touch bits up, and give him some tattoos.

Also need to find a base colour to match Graveyard Earth.

I chopped down his axe a long time ago, as I was never too happy with the shape of that one.

Willmark:

20 years? Thats it? Pppppppffffftttttt.
