I’m participating in a Blood in the Badlands campaign with the Chaos Dwarfs. I plan on updating this thread with the misadventures of my generals but I have one problem…I don’t know what to name them.
There allready is a well know general (and user) Tarrakk Blackhand. Nobody can call dibs on a name offcause and it’s not even the same name. But I myself would get another one.
I like cool names, and it really adds to an army and a campaign with well known heroes. My blood bowl league has several players made starplayers.
Just make sure you can remember the names and pronounce them.
Say the names out loud and if you like them then keep them. They all seem fine to me (I did write that name generator, so I’m not unbiased) although Tharrharr sounds a bit like a weird laugh. You can always generate more and pick the best ones, there is no right or wrong.
When we rolled our first turn happenings, Iosif decided that he wanted to take this season off and his banner was scattered, and I ended up with 150 points from my mines.
I had a 2400 point challenge game vs Dwarfs with ZakHar’s banner.

Run down of the game- Big Win for the Chaos Dwarfs just incase you don’t feel like reading any further.
We rolled dawn attack as the scenario with 10 pieces of terrain littered on the board.
He deployed with the anvil and grudge throwers on his left flank, blocks in the center along with the organ gun and the cannon all by it’s self on the right flank.
I deployed with the IG in the center with the Bull Centaurs, and Destroyer, on my left flank the hobo and MC, and on the right flank both units of hobos and the DSR.
Turn 1
Top- I was unable to steel the first turn and he started by moving his blocks up into a whole between terrain pieces. During his first shooting phase he tried shooting the destroyer with his canon and I made the ward save, and attempted to droop stones on ZakHar’s head but missed with both. With the anvil he attempted to cast the big magic missile and rolled a 1 and did not blow it up.
Bottom- I moved all of my troops forward to put some pressure on him. In my magic phase I filed to cast anything, this will become a theme of the game and during my shooting phase the magma cannon killed 6 long beards and the death shrieker misfired and would be unable to shoot this turn or next.
Turn 2
Top- With the destroyer threatening to charge his x-bows next turn he wanted to get some more chops in and charged in. His Long beads were just out of flank range so he moved them around so the could be moved by the anvil during his shooting phase. The long beards moved up to get ready to receive a charge from the BC. The cannon attempted to shoot the Bale Taurus and missed long, the grudge throwers however did a much better job. The non flaming one dropped a stone right on ZakHar’s head. Luckily the charmed shield did it’s job and he was saved his Taurus however suffered 6 wounds and was removed as a causality. The organ gun tried to unload on the BC but misfired. During combat the Destroyer flexed his mussels and devoured 20 dwarfs but he made both of his checks and lived to fight another day.
Bottom- I declared charges with the IG into the flank of the Long Beards, the BC into the Iron breakers, and the Hobo popped his potion and changed into the cannon crew. With my remaining moves I hid ZakHar behind some ancient runes and kept moving the hobo blocks up to eventualy engage the grudge throwers. Magic, I rolled a 4 for winds of magic and was unable to debuff the Iron breakers. In the shooting phase my magma cannon blew it self up and the death shirker was sill on a misfire from last turn. In combat the destroyer finished off the x-bows and with the support of the IG in the flank the long beards rand for the hills and were run down by the destroyer. Three of the cannon crew was taken out by the Hobo on a wolf and he took a wound for his efforts. The BC started whittling down the IB.
Turn 3
Top- With everything engaged in combat or a war machine he had no movement. During the shooting phase he attempted to drop some stones on the Destroyer but missed with the first and the second was flaming and I made my +2 ward. The anvil attempted to shoot the big MM and rolled a 2 and was un successful. In combat the BC and the IB kept slugging it out.
Bottom- I charged the organ gun with the IG, and with the remaining moves turned the destroyer face the Iron Breakers flank and moved the hobos forward towards the grudge throwers. Magic I failed to cast a spell. In combat the IG was unable to kill all of the organ guns crew so I combat reformed into two long ranks so the Destroyer was not blocked for his future charge. The Iron breakers managed to kill on of the BC and this proved to be extremely important because it opened up a charge lane for the destroyer.
Turn 4.
Top- He had no movement. Tried to shoot the Destroyer and filed to wound, then misfired with the anvil. The BC and IB slugged it out one more time I issued a challenge and finally took out his BSB with the Taur’ruk. The IG finished off the organ gun and reformed into a block facing the Anvil.
Bottom- I charged in with the destroyer and charged the grudge thrower with some hobos. With the BSB dead and the addition of the destroyer IB did not stand a chance and fled. They were run down by the Destroyer. The hobos failed to take out the grudge thrower this turn.
From here I procreated to mop up the rest of his army but I was unable to get to the anvil before turn 6 had ended.
After the game we rolled up the spoils of war and I ended up with a free 30 point magic item for ZakHar and scattered his banner.
All and All it was a great day for the Chaos Dwarfs!
