[Archive] Blue Paints a Goodwin Wardancer...and likes it!

Blue in VT:

Howdy all,

Here are some pictures of the figure I painted for participation in the Painting “contest” that took place at the recent Oldhammer event that was held at Foundry not long ago. This is the first Elf I’ve ever painted …and I must admit it was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing some more soon. You can find a basic walk through on the painting on my blog: http://bluesmarauders.blogspot.com/

Cheers,

Blue

Admiral:

The model and the painting are both of high quality. You’re skilled with those brushes.

G.2:

Wow, great work Blue. Great work in the flesh tone. Your work looks kind of different on an elf. Better actually, much better. Either you have improved, or elves are your “thing”.

Admiral:

Many Elves are painted in very light or even white skin tones. It usually sucks the lifeforce out of them. I’ve found that Elves look more vivid if painted in a normal skin tone, with some red-brown depth. Blue’s wardancer clearly shows why.

Blue in VT:

:cheers thanks guys! Yeah that much flesh can be intimidating to start on…but once I got rolling it felt right. Hopefully more soon.

Cheers,

Blue

Yodrin:

Might be well painted and all - but it’s still one stinky elf

Be careful my friend, posting elves might be seen as offensive behaviour, and we cant risk that you get banned - as we need you for BSL
