So besides my small CD collection and my regular Dwarfs…Classic Empire figures make a fairly large section of my collection. Up till now they have been quite neglected as far as painting goes…I’ve been trying to change this and I will be using this thread to document my process.
Here are the first few entries…these are a couple of Halberds that I recently painted for a contest over and Warhammer-Empire

And here is a Grey Wizard that I painted many years ago…it will obviously be re-based to match the rest of the army

I too am a big fan of the old empire figs, and like you, mine have not been painted. So hopefully this little thread of yours will inspire me to pull out the empire minis and paint them. I really like the armour on the knights, and the gold ‘tinge’ on the hero/leader is a nice touch.
Are the shield heraldry/emblems handpainted? Or are they decals? Either way nice work. I like how they monochrome (ie grey and black) this definately adds to their effictiveness.
I must add, that I am very envious of your ability to paint eyes.

G2…Thanks…those Reiksguard are some of my favorite figures from this period…I’ve only got 15 more to go! The shields are actually from the old Marauder Fighter series from around this same time period…the designs are cast onto the shields so no free handing needed.
As always you confirm to be a brush master!!! I like the colors you use for your models, and your technic is so neat! All in all your models are always spectacular.
I’m really impressed with these and your Dwarfs from the other thread. The clean and bright style that you have works really well. I just wish I could get my models to look something like that. Have you got any tips?
Well…its been since April for my last update on this thread…but finaly…I worked up a couple of members of the Marauder Empire Command set for the monthly painting contest over on Warhammer-Empire.

Great work Blue. I really like this command group. Nice choice of minis to paint, and your style really makes these guys “pop”. Like I mentioned on another thread on the internet, I wouldn’t get to see your lovely work, if it wasn’t for the various painting competitions. Thank Buddha for the competions.

@G2...you know you are right...the comps I've been involved with have been very motivating...I always think that I'll have time to work on something out side my "obligations" but it never works out that way. This may change though...I'm really feeling the urge to actually play a game of warhammer....with painted figures so I'm thinking of taking a couple of months off of most comps (except BS of course) and focusing on getting some rank and file cranked out.
